at Startercross.

Whatever mind game advantage he has in SX goes out with window when they go outdoors.

MX is the true sport but not as popular, after a race like that in SX the main thread would have 35 pages only 9 for MX lol.

But yeah SX levels the playing field a lot, there's only so much you can do on a creative level.

I don't know why anyone would come to conclusions after 3 motos....this is like calling it quits after getting a bogey on the second hole. There's a lot of golf left to play...

He will turn it around, I think. But so far he’s lost 20-21 positions in 3 motos.

It's not where he's finishing the races as much as he's dropping anchor compared to the other top riders. The bottom line is, the speed just isn't there. Maybe he figures something out and turns things around. After 3 motos out of 24, the raw speed just isn't there. Not much else to say. He better figure it out in a hurry.

And shout out to the Yamaha's and Honda's finishing with 5 bikes in the top 6. But those KTMs are so light........lol

Yep, he actually had improved, this moto he was only 44sec behind Kenny, instead of 51 LaughingLaughingLaughing

Don't forget that SX takes place at night. MX takes place during the day and a lot of people are working.

I think if he's not a consistent top 5 guy after the 22 MX season, he will go SX only for the remainder of his career. Don't blame him either. Focus on what you're great at and get as many wins and championships in that as possible.

This wouldn't be a situation I'd disagree with like I did with Reed and Stewart either. Those two were great outdoors and championship contenders in their prime when they did it. Entirely different situation here.

Chad was most certainly not a title contender until 2009. 1 moto win from 2003-2007. And was eliminated from the title before to the final round every year prior to 2009.

Because a dude named Ricky fucking Carmichael was there. He had numerous 2-2 finishes in 04 and 05. 06 he was the clear 3rd guy behind Stewart and Carmichael. Then went SX only till 09.

Chad finished runner up to RC 15 times before going SX only in 2007. Your seriously trying to compare Chad Reed to Webb outdoors? This is beyond a stretch.

I still cant wrap my head around that a guy who cant blitz whoops for shit is considered a ”SX expert”.

You would think that his qualities as a sx racer (line choice, late moto charges etc would suit MX rather good to.

I’m not making the comparison, Tdeath brought Chad up. I’m just pointing out that at no point in 03, 04, 05, 06 was Chad in contention for those outdoor titles.

Sure he was, injures always happen. Throughout the history of this sport injuries launch guys careers. If RC got Hurt Reed would have been a favorite. Just like 04SX.

Sure, but the beauty of those titles being 20 years ago is we can now say, Chad didn’t have a chance. And you know what? In 2006, we knew that while the races were still happening.

Why did he go SX only? Because the weekly ass beatings were getting old

But he was a clear top dude. Top 3 every season and the clear 2 guy till Stewart got there. Didn't make sense to go SX only. If Webb gives it 5 years and is never even a top 5 guy then it's time to go SX only clearly. It says a lot that he was past his prime and giving the Ryans all they could handle in 2011.

Reed was getting his ass beat by one guy and then two when James was keeping it on two wheels. Webb at the moment is getting beat by half of the factory guys. Again don’t compare Chad Reed outdoors to Webb. Webb has one win in the 450s and it’s also his only podium. He went to 450s in 2017 btw.

DV, Davi and Kdub had no problem slapping Chad around outdoors those years either. It’s not like he was on Ricky’s wheel.

Chad not being a title contender back then and coop not being one now can both be true....Same level? No. Contenders? Also no

I wish I had the confidence of someone like you. To be so utterly wrong yet you don’t hesitate to post. I’m envious of posters like you. DV and Davi were smoked by Reed 95% of the time. Windham had his moments. Mainly when Chad was on the two stroke pre Millville 2003. In 04 K dub got him a couple times too but overall Reedy had Windhams number. Next time lead with Windham and forget Davi and DV. Laughing

You’re right man, Chad was totally in contention those years. Fighting Ricky tooth and nail for those championships, nail biters. Thanks for showing me the light!

Edit: how did Chad do after switching to the 450 in 03? Looks like even Timmy had his number then. Weird?

2016 Roczen ride. Make quick passes. Take the lead. Open up a 15 second gap. Manage it at that rate from there. Win the race.

In all seriousness, they do look like they are down on power compared to Yamaha and Honda. Barcia with the best finish from the GG/KTM/Husky brand of bikes.

Again, those Hondas and Yamahas sure look good, in both classes.
