He's at the top of his game mentally. He's healthy. He's fit. No family distractions. He has a full 4 weeks to get over the "championship hangover" and get his outdoor settings.
Change my mind.

He’s had A Lot of time to prepare and no SX hangover to get over either. Going to be a good outdoor season! Can’t come soon enough

He's a great outdoor racer and a top contender but these are 2 different disciplines and he doesn't have a track record to be the favorite. There isn't a favorite for this season which makes this look great.

The back injury definitely held him back last year. But so far he has one overall win. I don't think he is the favorite. AC was crazy fast last year (Dnfs eliminated his title chance pretty much). So were Osborne and Sexton. Tomac will be more hungry now. Musquin will be back and healthy. We still don't know if Roczen is even gonna race (I hope so).

Webb is by far the best SX racer now, specially on tight short tracks. But for some reason I don't see him going the same pace outdoors with the top guys for the whole season.

It was the same discussion in 2019 by the way. Maybe my words won't age well, who knows.

Like RalphS already said, there doesn't seem to be a clear favorite. A lot of guys who can win motos.

So fucking hyped for outdoors.

I think the outdoor title will be between Webb and Osbourne personally. People seem to forget but Webb is a 250 MX champion and won it nursing a broken wrist, he's capable of winning outdoors too.

Just my opinion, though. I could easily look back at this post at the end of outdoors and look absolutely stupid lol

He’s a top 3 favorite but tomac getting fired up is a possibility (looks unlikely right now), Ken maybe can regain some of his past outdoor form (he’s won the title twice so he could use that for confidence), Webb has never been better than marvin outdoors (and he just finished sx with a couple podiums), and then you have AC, Sexton, and ferrandis who could be speed wildcards

I would put Osborne and AC above Webb for outdoors. They have been off SX and riding moto now for a while, they'll come in fully prepared.

The most interesting rider for me is Tomac, this summer is huge for him.

Yep, I can see Webb is the favourite, the numbers don't lie.

I'm actually thinking Marvin might pull something out of his bag.

Why is KR not riding outdoors even a question?

I remember seeing JMart on the side of the track with a blown bike that season. That doesnt happen, Webb wouldnt have gotten the chip likely.

Right now it seems like no one hates losing more than Webb. Not good for everyone else

He may prove me wrong, but Roczen, Tomac, and Osborne all have as many or more 450 national titles than Webb does 450 national wins. He's got a big step to make before he's on their level outdoors.

Outdoors dark horse: Dylan Ferrandis. As for Zacks, I don't see him defending his title.

Better shot than last year, not a clear favorite by any means.
I have to agree. Everything in the OP’s post is true...but I think, of all the top riders this year (maybe Sexton too), Webb might be the closest thing to a Supercross specialist. He might do it this year...but I think Roczen might still have what it takes to beat him outdoors. KR is pretty gnarly outdoors.

Webb for sure has a thing to prove 450 outdoors, but you can’t count out the kid. He simply hates losing and when he gets the ball rolling at the start off the series and get confidence, everybody will know by know he is in it to win it.

Cant wait for the outdoors and see who really wants it the most.

That was then, this is now.
I will say Osborne is a strong choice.

Faded too often in 20 minutes races and has magic for 2 30s in heat and humidity?

Not enough gate drops for ZO to gauge his competition.

If you don’t say Tomac, I guess you haven’t been watching the outdoors for the last 5 years.

JMart finished nearly 200 points back that season, think it’s safe to say a single DNF wouldn’t have made the difference.
