I know it’s old news, but seeing how much the level drops off after the top 5 and thinking about how great the races could be with all the top 250 guys together, we need a real 250 championship.

How about this:
Do 5 races east and 5 races west to determine the regional championship. Take the top 20 from each coast and do a 7 race 250 national/world SX Championship.

There should definitely be one premier 250 class. Then add two regional age limited 250 support classes that get no TV time, just streaming.

You are wrong.

Half the guys in half the races, when half of that half gets hurt... well thats what we got last night..

In a proper field there is no way Lawrence gets that close to 2nd .

A real 250 SX championship with no age limit, plus a regional development series on stock bikes.

Stock suspension in supercross would make for an entertaining show. Of course, no one would make it to the second round, though.

Quite often, the 250s set as fast, or faster, lap times than the 450s. If we had two pro classes, we could end it with a phenomenal split-start championship race where the "Champion's Champion" could be decided. That would be off-the-hook. Let's face it, some racers just have bodies better suited to 250s (Baggett, Webb, Osborne, the Martin bros), and if they were allowed to perfect their abilities on those smaller bikes, who knows what could come of their pace over time?

In "real life," no one is told they're too old for, or have spent too much time on, a 250, so why should this be the case with professional racing? For the life of me, I just cannot understand why we haven't done away with this STUPID rule. Tradition is only tradition until it isn't. And it's time.

In an ideal world! 125 has an east and west, 250 (limited mods) and 350 have a full schedule. 16 man main events. 125's main events only in the night program.

Watched a main event with only 4 top guys last night IMO, what a yawner.
I’ll get a better take on it Tuesday in person.

I understand the argument behind privateers coming up need a feeder class to learn and how their skills but the 250 class really needs some more talent. Iy has become a bit lean on solid depth.

The East / West combined is a damn fine example of bang for your buck and always delivers. Imagine that over 17 rounds.

A difficult bride to cross trying to keep everyone happy and honestly I think its about high time they look into alternate solutions.

Why not run the 250 class 17 races? I dont think a regional split is necessary anymore.

It’s not like it used to be. The privateer doesn’t stand a chance. With each major manufacturer carrying 2-5 guys on factory bikes.. the regional series just needs to go away. I’m not saying 17 rounds but I think a solid 10-12 round series combining all the guys would be good. Also, if they can manage to keep up these “resident” stops. You save money and give the privateers more of a chance.

250 mod should be the real championship.........
with a 250 stock feeder class and a 125 2stroke junior class....
the 450 have outgrown the stadium tracks and schooling system does not work well anymore....
i have been talking about this for a few yeas now, seen a few others also talking about the being 450 to big for sx, but most of the people still pretends they cant see it, just because most people are afraid of assuming "change" and feel comfort on letting it roll.....

When the 250's are running the same lap times as the 450class. which has been happening for over 10 years now.

It makes me wonder if the 450's are just extra power and weight that's not needed in SX.

450s are more difficult to race., have 20min mains instead of 15min and do 17 rounds instead of 8. That is why its the premier class.
