Awesome to see Bolts on commentary again! Can't wait to have Paul back at the races but man, the hard enduro commentary team is excellent, even if for just a few races a year.
Mani cleans the hill by ghosting his bike and hooking it on the Red Bull sign that keeps the bike from sliding back! Taddy slips off a big rock and the bike flips and appears to have bent the shifter and they are trying to fix it. Mani stuck at a spot up the hill. This "race" is incredible. Mani is having to lift his bike up the hill bit by bit, after hours of racing. Insane.
Big air may get the hype, but man, those guys are doing the most interesting, skilled and technically
advanced riding these days. Absolutely incredible!!!
OMG, possibly the race of the year. In ANY discipline. This race makes me proud to say that, to me, Hard Enduro tops any other racing on the planet.
Simply an incredible race. What an effort by Mani and Taddy. A heartbreaking mechanical for Taddy after he entered the X Loop. But man, what effort. Mani is 21. Taddy is 36 and plenty left in the tank!! And the X Loop is a very cool wrinkle into Hard Enduro. Very reminiscent of the 30 minute cutoff at the infamous Hell's Gate extreme enduro in Italy.
Huge congrats to Mani on the title and win. And to his Father, who has been my favorite rider of all time, Andreas Lettenbichler, for being every step of the way with his son. So cool.
Guys, I know Hard Enduro isn't super popular on Vital but man, it's a crying shame that more here don't tune in and enjoy this. The most talented riders on dirt bikes period, super nice people with no egos, sportsmanship unparalleled, iconic races and awesome Red Bull TV coverage and commentary. Everyone here, do yourselves a huge favor and watch the replay on Red Bull TV. It was utterly fantastic!! It will make you a fan if you aren't already. I've been fanatically following Hard Enduro since 2008 and I'm super proud to call it my favorite sport!
And you know, after that BS move in SuperEnduro last year, I wasn't much of a fan of Alfredo Gomez. But his passion and desire to plead to get into the X Loop was awesome. He REALLY wanted it and damn, in a world of athletes who quit all too easily, that was effin' awesome. Props., AG89!
How did Gomez end up beating Taddy if Taddy lapped him? I watched Mani finish then I had to shut it off.
I'll be honest. It was confusing. The rule was that after the leader entered the X Loop that it would be closed for any competitor who fell 20 minutes behind. Before Mani and Taddy entered the X Loop, which was insanity btw, the announcers stated that Alfredo had been eliminated from being able to enter the loop with the leaders.
There was some confusion at the gate but Alfredo pleaded his case and they let him in. And in his podium interview he said he did not get laped and I guess beat the cutoff. I admit, I was confused as well. Taddy was 2nd most of the race, overtook Mani briefly, then fell back to 2nd. Then, after a coupe of falls, his bike gave up on him. Man, he was so disappointed.
Mani made his way to take first and Alfredo eventually made it thru as well.
Granted Hard Enduro is a fairly newly recognized sport, I would think it would benefit the promoters to create a course that was rideable without having to throw your bike or push it in order to make a section.
Granted most rider can't even do what the pros are capable of , but it just seems crazy to create sections that even the best can't ride. Graham Jarvis made the remark that "whats the point if its unridable" ?
What. A. Race.
So pumped for Manni!
I love the highlight clip of Manni launching his bike up the rock and his Dad grabs him before...

I agree. What makes it even better is that his dad was helping his competitors too. When Taddy was right behind Manni, his dad grabbed Taddy’s front end over the same obstacle. Helped him over and sent him on his way. That combined with riders helping other riders makes this sport awesome.
Hands down the best hard enduro I’ve ever watched. The Redbull coverage was second to none.
If you’ve never watched one of these events before, Getzen Rodeo 2019 is the one to see.

Hard Enduro - Hard = Enduro
IMO in Hard Enduro if the rider doesn't get stuck at least once during the race it's not hard enough. Part of Hard Enduro is figuring out the puzzle pieces and you don't guess correctly every time. Creativity is king.

If they can ride every obstacle without a little bit of a rodeo, it's probably not hard enough in my opinion.
