How many riders have crashed on that jump over the years? It’s always the same also too much scrub.
Forkner hit head hard. Didn’t bubba wreck on that same jump years ago also?
I love this track also. The dirt. The speed they carry is amazing. Has that one fun glider jump. Amazing scenery.

Don't know how many.

Do know they could make the lip more defined and the drop more immediate and it wouldn't happen anymore.

I understand it isn’t necessarily a dangerous jump, but if it keeps hurting people.... Change it!

Forkners crash was damn near identical to Canards back in 2011, the super scrub where the front wheel taps the jump and spits him back the other direction and he just slaps the ground

Is that the same jump where Pourcel broke his neck or back in 2016?

That jump doesn't keep hurting riders, the riders keep hurting riders.

For different reasons, McGrath needed a change of undies on that one as well. I watched him (‘97 on the Suzuki) whip it from left to right trying to get to the smooth right side, and caught a rut while sideways. Threw him into a tank slapper of epic proportions. How he hung on I’ll never know. Shook his head the rest of the way up the hill...

Nothing wrong with that jump I've hit it at least a hundred times over the years. Forkner f'd up and over scrubbed it that's all on him.

No, he crashed a few corners earlier across from the starting line.

Why change it???

Because one dude scrubbed to hard and ate shit???

Didn't see any other issues on that jump all weekend. Don't change anything.

I could be wrong but when i rode Open Practice there this past June i don’t recall that jump being there or at least nearly as defined. Seemed like it was more of a smooth, linear incline leading to horsepower hill. I sat right there for the race yesterday and commented to the person i was with that they must have built that up for the National but again, i could very well be wrong. Perhaps it just wasn’t like that the one time i rode or maybe I’m just misremembering altogether.

No, it's always there. Us squirrels aren't good enough to scrub that jump like the pros do. I've hit that jump a lot and while I definitely catch air I never scrub it. Cause I can't. Hit it a few weeks ago so hard on the gas the the front came way up and I almost looped out. Squid move for sure. I also almost never float the top of horsepower hill, and never 3/4 the way to the bottom.

There's a lot of jumps there that the pros do different - that wall into sand, the Road jump, the hip jump before you head to the ski jump, the wall jump before the Fly jump are all different at their speed/skill. That's why I like to watch them - to see how different the track is when ridden by someone with some real skill. Smile

If you scrub any jump too hard, you’ll wad it. Forkner was pushing the limit and it bit him.

40 years racing at Shoug, maybe 3 people crash on it and it needs to be removed. Please.

That hump ended mike browns 03 125 season as well I believe. I don't think it should be removed but maybe changed slightly so it's less a chance of bumping the top. It's Part of the challenge of getting a good drive up the hill

450 crash seemed more brutal. More speed, more weight, more damage?

Great racing, glad he wasn’t hit. Canard was going to fast to get hit, big time crash!

Don't till the track because it gets to deep. Change the jump because Forkner tried to scrub to much. What's next for them to try and make it easier on these guys ?

I’ve ridden plenty of tracks with non-definitive faces 3/4 of the way up and a rounded off top. That’s the beauty of the obstacle. Scrubbing something like that, you’re putting yourself at risk. The jump itself isn’t the risk.

It's one of the most mellow jumps on the circuit yet people are saying they need to change it/eliminate it? Come on guys. I like Forkner too but sometimes it's simply the rider at fault.

Let's get rid of all gnarly stuff, let's start by banning umbrellas for public beaches, the world will be a better place and we all will live happily ever after

Change it. How many crashes is enough, if not?? No broken femur for Forkner, thankfully, unlike Canard.
