I wonder if John Desoto knew the kid from the islands. Shit the mini class was more international than today's supercross.

That's awesome. Remember seeing Troy Blake ride Wardy's factory KX125 at a Saddleback practice day in 1982.
Wait sec that was '83. Oh and that Coombs kid is going nowhere Smile

Cool.
That probably was around 1983/84 I assume when he did all the outdoor 125 Nationals for a couple seasons.
I think he got a 6th OA at RedBud in 84 and a 7th at Hangtown along with more top 10's those seasons.

Good memory.
Yep ,in 83 Rodney got 10th in points OA in the 125 Outdoor Nationals.
In 84 Rodney did a lot of races too both Outdoor and SX riding both 125's & 250's.

My dad used to talk about Eric Hall, said he was one of the fastest locals around.
Oh he was! Back in Eric's day , we had him and quite a few other's around here , that were fast as hell. The whole NW from 1980 - 1995 , was just epic around here. Best moto years of my life.

Heck even into the late 90's and early 2000's some very fast guys.
McCormick won the 2nd 125 moto at the Washougal National in 99 and got 3rd OA.
I'm sure you remember that one.
That was quite a day.
