My local dealer has an Aprilia twin MXer on the showroom floor, I think it's a leftover 2010 model. Very cool looking, I'd love to ride it. Would not want to have to do any maintenance on it more in depth than changing the air filter, that thing scares me.

More impressive to me are the guys like Arnaud Tonus, who were on a 250 in the Open class.

Because nobody needs or wants 80hp. The 450s can comfortably lay down more than enough power for even the best riders in the world, on a motocross track.

Would it be illegal to run a big bore 450? I could have sworn I heard one year Windham had a 500cc. (450 of course) Not because he really needed the power, it was just to get him out to a good start.

There were lots of Euros listed as riding 480s and 490s at Budds, if I remember correctly. Not different models, just bored out 450s. I expected to see some in colorado due to the altitude.

The sport has changed. The world has changed. It's time for the DesNations to change. We don't have 3 classes of bikes anymore. We don't have equality in rider skill between countries. Time to change to rules to make it the great race that it once used to be. The USA has way to big of an advantage to justify a winner take all event. Make it a two rider per country event and handicap the largest countries based on population. The math is pretty simple.

Yes good idea because all of the changes so far have worked out so well. not..... We were much better off with 125's, 250's and 500's. JMO

Those engines suck to work on. I have seen the innards. I have a 550 sxv. I imagine it is quite heavy for moto, but the ergos really nice.

I took one on trade last year and rode it before I sold it, all I can say is it's the fastest dirt bike I've ever ridden and there's no way I'd be able to handle that bike on a track at all. Anyone who can ride that bike fast is very talented. It's impossible to keep the front wheel down...I'd get myself hurt.

MX2 250cc 4 stroke
MX3 2 stroke open

A lot of the smaller countries still have 2 strokes in high demand. It would be cheaper for some countries to do it. It would also go along with the 2 stroke championship events over in Europe that have been popping up. Bring back the 2 stroke specialists.
