Hey! I am a 14 year old boy who has dreamed of motocross since I was 6 years old.
No one in the family has driven or is driving. Only my brother and I are interested in motoring and he could help me a bit with the mech as he knows more than me!
Is it available? Do you learn along the way or are you in need to know everything?

How much would it cost in about a month if you drive 3-4 times a month and about 2 hours at a time? If you skimp on clothes (not with protection of course), how much will it be?
How much will it be for spare parts each month?

I think I could go back to enduro school to learn the basics so it's not quiet ride in the start

The bike I thought is a Ktm SX 85. Any thoughts on it? Any good year model or any other bike?
(I am about 161 cm and weigh about 40 kg)

(Sorry if my english was bad, not my real language)

Grateful for answers!

Do you plan to ride at a track or do you have land to ride on for free?

Your best bet is to go to a local motorcycle shop and ask them how and where to get started. Someone there will be into dirt bikes.

Start off with a trail bike and learn the basics. Maybe a crf150, and have fun!

Start with a yz125.
You're 14, at that age you're supposed to ride a 125.
It will last until you're 18, you'll learn how to properly ride a bike and after that you will be able to ride whichever bike you want.

When i was at the store they said i would start eith a 85cc and go up to an 125cc in about 1-2 years! I tested to sit on a 125cc and i couldnt make it to the ground and it was like 10-15 cm from my feets to the ground. There thoughts was that it was bad for me to start with 125 because if you havent driven before you need to make it to the ground.

I was 11 and had a RM 125. I had several inches below my feet. I had previous experience on a bike but, I could see your need for touching the ground when you stop.
Get an 85 then after your pushing the bike harder then its pushing you, sell it and get a 125. Getting experience on a bike is more important then getting a bike you won't be comfortable on. CC's might suit your age group but, not your riding ability at this point.

Have fun learning. Don't think a smaller bike will hold you back either. Its a stepping stone and learning tool to help you become comfortable and a better rider.

Crf150f is what I started on. It’s bulletproof. When I went to sell it I found out I had been running it with no air filter and the air box was slap full of pistachio shells. Cleaned me out, put a new filter in, and it ran like a champ. Amazing bike.

Those are full pistachios, but that's not even the biggest head scratcher about your story!

What’s not believe-able? Lol. I never changed the oil or checked the filter on the bike till I went to sell it. But I was shocked when I found the shells. My buddy down the street had the same deal except in was an acorn in a kx65 and it got jammed under the slide.

What’s the big head scratcher? I’m interested.
