According to my contact, they’ve been selling them and the parts this way to Privateers that had asked the team.

New shock is available in about six weeks or so from WP to the public. I’m not sure if this address can get them to you now. I wouldn’t be surprised if they sourced one of a 250SX privateer wants one to comply with the rules though.

Before people start blasting that email be aware of how the rule is written, they only have to sell them or someone with a 250 SX license. If you’re joe blow, I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a response. I’m not saying that would happen but it’s my guess.

So If its not available for 6 weeks then it shouldn't be able to be used now or previously per their rules so illegal. Nothing will happen though as normal. I think its the same with FE bikes right? Should be available to buy for A1 not a couple months later, but no one press the issue

No, the FEs don’t have to be available for A1. 200 units have to be proven to be in the states by sometime in I believe it’s February and the further 200 units need to be around by the end of the season/Vegas time.

And as I stated above, the shock isn’t available to the public but if you’re racing 250 SX it should be.

Factory Edition bikes are the works exemption rule that keeps on giving and giving. Shouldn't be legal until they are available to everyone. Shitty rule, but I guess someone is getting money in their pockets so it's all good.

This is sad news. Congratulations on whatever the next step is as I’m sure it’s in a better direction. Gonna miss your articulate reviews for sure!

Not available to the public? What good is that to me, the end consumer that pays the bills at places like wp, kyb, etc?? They so flush my money isn't good enough for them? Pretty sure I can spend that 10k a whole bunch of other places where it is...

That rule is there to keep racing costs a bit more reasonable for Everyone involved, from the privateers to the factory teams. Well, and to keep things "fair", but who cares about that anymore???

I find it very difficult to believe that WP is selling those forks and that shock in accordance with the prices AND availability in the rulebook.
