I knew it was hard, but the documentary edits always made it look easier than it should have. until i stumbled upon this video... Got damn, I used to think i could ride atleast a couple of hills of the course......ill stick to riding slow around vet tracks, thinking im fast.

Damn.... You may want to have a completely disposable older bike for that race.

I did not think I was going to watch that whole video but I did with ease. Wow, at 12:30 when that rider collides with him and they both go down, gnarly. All of it is gnarly. Thise guys that finish that race are animals

I was looking for the dumpster at the end where you drop off your bike.

The collision at 5.00 was bad enough! There were more bike parts on the ground than there were bolted to his bike after that one.

This dude seemed a little inexperienced to me, he put himself in some really bad positions often.

300cc 2 strokes are the bikes of choice for extreme enduro as they're lighter and more reliable in extreme conditions.

Looked to me like the other rider tried threading the needle a bit too close passing on his right instead of his left. Some of it looks like it would be fun with 90% fewer bikes and a bike I didn't have to repair afterwards...

he might have made some bad choices, but he made it a long way into the event.

and They don't overheat like a 4T will in those conditions. 300 2 storkes are light, perfect power to weight ratio for that environment, and won't overheat.

The hardest part for me would be, mentally you just can't give two fucks about your dirtbike on those obstacles. I have a hard time as it is jumping off my bike in a sketchy situation on an MX track or in the desert. I work hard for my money and grew up barely above the poverty line. Beating the shit out of something you put good money into is hard for me to mentally overcome.

I'd like to know what kind of levers he was using.
No bark busters, and he still had them till the end.

If you watch the whole video you will see he does overheat and at one point pouring more water into the radiator.
I have a 300 and the first time in super tight single track and was at 9000 feet elevation I was over heating at times, put a fan on it and never over heated again.

Hes actually a pretty decent rider with plenty of skills. Just puts into perspective how damn though the race is.

The rider gets my thumbs up. He made some mistakes but also some nice moves. The dude yelling in the lake had me rolling.

What a killer race, a lifetime of stories from that one race alone.

Was awesome seeing riders just going for it, no fucks given. that type of shit gets me fired up!
