WP AER forks. All the same?

Probably throwing some wp aer forks on my '16 350sxf. Does it matter if the forks come from a 125, 250, 450, etc.? I am hoping to not have to revalve. I've found a lot of sets on ebay, just want to make sure I don't order something that isn't correct for my bike.

Thanks

I purchased a 2017 AER set for my 2016 350 SXF.....immediate revalve in my opinion.....as that was I did as I had no idea what bike it came from.

Do you know if the AER has different internals from bike to bike? I've found a set on ebay from a 350sxf but I've found sets for less $$ from 250s and 450s. How do you like the AER compared to the 4cs? I'm ashamed to admit I've put just under 2 grand into those damn forks and they just get worse..

Thing is, the 'right' one for your bike might be the wrong one for you, when talking about the valving. A 125 is about 200#, where a heavy one is 240#? that's 40#, but a rider can vary by 100#+! Plus, a beginner off roader or a pro motocrosser makes a big diff in valving too. Valving is rarely 'right' for anyone.

That all makes sense. I was just thinking that since the air pressure controls the spring rate, maybe they were all the same. Tim507 gave me some good feedback back in another thread.

The valving is different between models. I recommend getting the correct set for the displacement of your bike. If you have to fudge it, don't put 125/150SX, 250SX or Any XC fork on it they will be too soft.

I put AER forks from a 17 250 SXF onto a 2016 250 SX and am very pleased with the results. I'm not fast by any stretch, so I don't need perfection, but the damned thing needs to be rideable. I also have a 16 250 sxf, and for some reason, the forks seemed much worse on the 2 stroke. I found with the 4CS either I had to stiffen them up so to keep them up in the stroke making them intolerably harsh, or soften them for comfort and have the bike feel unstable. Just for some context, I also ride on a sand track, so you really notice if the bike lacks stability. The AER forks totally transformed the bike. There is no headshake at all, and the comfort level is quite good. They seem to ride higher in the stroke which is great for sand. I'm sure I could make them better with a revalve, but for what I do, they're quite satisfactory, whereas I didn't even like riding the bike with the 4CS.

Why would u spend $1500 + on AER forks with possible more money for revalve or repair ? Those forks are garbage anyway! There is a reason why there is 10 pairs for sale on eBay! Just use yours existing 4CS and have SSS KYB kit installed, cheaper and 100% more effective! Or buy Ohlins internals for the 4CS , U can probably find used ones for $700 !

Ended up grabbing some Ohlins from a member on this site. I'll let you guys know how great they feel! Thanks for all of your input, it narrowed down my decision.
