I was just reading the CycleNews shootout and along with MXA the KTM won the 450 shootout! W00t I think that's a first.

It's the only bike with the MAGIC BUTTON and not the heaviest either.

Tip of the visor to them--they do things their own way and don't play copycat like the Big 4.

That's fine by me. Most bikes sold won't be racing a National.

Oh wait you mean any MX race in the USA?

I think you will be wrong about that one Cyg.

I love KTM's direction.
The bikes look stellar, and No doubt, they build rocketship engines out of the box. And they are 2 stroke die hards.

Might be a bit more ching, but look at the trick stuff that comes on them.
For Off Road, they are as good or better than anything.
As far as Sexy look on a bike, Only Aprilia is better.

I'll probably own a 300 cc KTM Off road bike here soon.

Anybody else noticed the diet Cycle News has been on ?

Used to be as thick as shag carpet - now it's all Jenny-Craig- like linoleum.

Once they pissed off the local and regional guys a couple years back with

their " Umm, we're only gonna start paying you half of what we used to and, umm,

we're really only gonna print the California stuff...." attitude - that was, to me,

the beginning of their downfall. They need to recall what got them there.

Bloody shame, really.

Right. Because their factory guy will likely be on a 350, rather than the bike that was tested.

They should really rethink that 350 thing.

KTM, Mike and Tony. It might be fine on those new GP tracks built on flat ground but he is gonna be eaten alive on the tracks in the USA with all the big hills.

Yeah a shame. My daughter used to write about the local races here in Western Ny. It was a great way for her to get her started in journalism at a young age. They always paid well. But it was always a surprise as to when the checks would arrived . Plus the locals loved reading about themselves.
As for the KTM,s it looks like they have really been doing their R&D. It used to be "Kill The Maker",Koin Taking Machine", "Kan't Take Moto", and on and on.Hell we always said they changed to the color of a pumpkin because you carved them till Fall then threw them on the compost pile. Being a 2 stroke guy I will end up owning one someday.

Believe it or not a lot of people buy 450,s and never race MX with them. But a lot of people will buy a 450 based on these shootout results.

They will sell more 350's than any other size. What's to rethink about that?

Have you ever ridden a 450 KTM? I rode the 2009 and it was a nice bike.

You're mistaken about KTM never winning a pro race....Brayton won the last moto of the year at Steel City on it.

Well ofcourse it won't, who the heck do they have riding from them? Look i own a 2009 kawi 450 and a 2010 kawi 250F as well so i'm not biased towards ktm, but before that i had a ktm 450 SXF (2008 model), the bike is awesome and the 2010 models are supposed to be even more refined and better handling. Don't be so quick to judge, the right rider could win tons of nationals on one in my opinion.

AMA MX 'Race'...

Lorretta's Qual's and Races...

Pro-Am Races...

Are you sure about that statement?

uuhhhhhhhh, have you not seen some of the GP tracks with hills? Some are down right power robbing terrain. Once again i have to say Mike has the effin choice to ride the 350 or 450, doesn't he? SO even if that is the case with the 350 lacking power, he can ride the 450.
