But JA was as fast as Cairoli at the Starcross race in february. Today he was 4 seconds slower in the same track!

The GP MX1 class is deeper than the Nationals usually are past round 5

Culture shock and underestimated competition, that makes him think more than it is necessary. He will be fine in couple of month. Just my thoughts. Could be wrong.

I'm sure there's a reason why Albertson, Pourcel, and deDycker were stuck so far back. They all should have been capable of something closer to 10-15th, at least.

Some of you all act like JA is the fastest thing on 2 wheels. If he was that fast, he would have a ride here.

The International races are used for bike time and to test setups. Did you think Albertson was going to be mixing it up Cairoli or something ?

well one thing is for certain with results like this .... we wont see any extra american riders at the glen helen gp ... too much risk of a bruised ego .

Albertston only beat Cairoli over one lap... tnow he GPs have started and the regulars have upped their pace, plus the British based teams are racing now which makes it even deeper. This isn't his national championship anymore it is the world championship with greater track varierties and if he gets 10th in the series it will be a great result.

This year is a learning year he will be fine, he is still going fast.

Brown said not to get overconfident when I asked him for advice for Jimmy... I think maybe he read too much into those pre -season races expecting top 5. He is fast though and could get 8th-15th they are all a similar speed out there.

Aranda was stretchered off and GOncalves and Sword aren't even there and it is still really deep.

Searle mentioned somthing similar in his interview on the cycle new website - he said maybe the Americans don't want to race incase they get beat by someone they have never heard of lol

Same goes for the GP riders if they dont show up at Hangtown....No?? Give the kid a chance first before you go cutting him off at the legs people. Also I dont care if they were cool down races, JA beat Cairoli head to head... Do you really think Cairoli didnt WANT to win that race in Pre season... Or even the rest of the GP guys for that matter. He has more than the capabilities, just needs the right confidence and attitude again

Albertson won the 1-lap challenge in mantova in february... not an actual race

as far as his world champs have gone so far... bulgaria was probably a little under-par but mantova hasn't even begun yet.... if he keep racing, and keeps finishing races, he'll get better and better as he becomes more comfortable

it ain't easy out there, the international in february didn't have 1/2 the riders these races have and jimmy needs support, not criticism

True, warm-up races don't count much, but still.... a gap of 4 seconds is a LOOOOT and I can not believe that. Something happened today and Jimmy must have a good reason.

As Sean knows, if you get a shit start or have things go a little sideways on the opening laps in a field of talent that deep, you are in a real uphill struggle to make up ANY positions.

Tomorrow's another day.

It would be interesting to see lap times from the International and compare them to this weekends.

Ja won the one vs one, not the starcross.. it's one lap, not a race.. anyway he was fast that day..

Funny thing on MA that day happened when he looked at the cairoli Laptime 7 sec faster than his and he said: IMPOSSIBLE!

Funny thing on MA that day happened when he looked at the cairoli Laptime 7 sec faster than his and he said: IMPOSSIBLE!

I don't think Cairoli is SEVEN seconds faster than Mike Alessi. No way!

Also isnt the way some of you gauge a race weekend is off one lap in qualifying... So believe me both AC and JA were going for it in that "one lap" race just as they do when trying to set pole. So dont go discrediting what JA accomplished that day at Mantova, he has the speed. Period

It would be interesting to see lap times from the International and compare them to this weekends.
That was wet sand and Ithink it`s dry now. Jimmy`s best today was 2.00, in starcross it was 2.01 in first moto. Cairoli had 1.56 today and 2.01 in starcross
