I have a feeling this is going to develop into a great rivalry over the next 5+ years for us fans.

Both clearly fast as hell, both speak their minds...

Bring it on!

I have a feeling Kenny will have Cooper covered, but I hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see some great battles.

Webb has a long way to go to be on Roczens level. Roczen is a once in a generation type talent. If Webb don't improve his starts Roczen will be the last of his worries. There close in age as well which hurts Webb.

Webb is going to need to step his game up a few levels if he wants a piece of Roczen. He was not competing for a win either moto at the MXDN. That's no critique of Webb. He rode his heart out. He's new to the 450 though. Good thing that Roczen moved to the Honda and will be learning a new bike. If Roczen gets dialed in on the Honda like he did the Suzuki it could be a long summer for the competition. That includes Webb, Tomac, Anderson, Barcia, etc.

I have the feeling webbs 450 career is gonna start out slow like villopoto's and hell he may end up even moving off the Yamaha 450 as nobody has really looked that impressive on one but if anyone can Webb can I guess

Off topic but Febvre I don't think will have many healthy seasons until he calms down a bit. When someone rides his pace or faster he makes many many mistakes and has a ton of oh shit moments.

Yeah I should have said over here. I was hoping barcia would do well on it but sadly the last person to do well on it over here absolutely hated it

Webb has none of the riding finesse that Roczen has, so I don't foresee there being any real competition between them for a good few years yet.

Webb will need a different bike to keep up, he won't be able to hold onto the blue pig. Put Webb on Kenny's old Suzuki and we would have a battle on our hands.

I see Webb being very competitive in Supercross in 2017. Not for the overall title, but for occassional podiums and mabe a win here or there. I think it may take a little longer in the outdoor series. His aggressive nature may hinder him at times in Supercross, but I believe it will help him at times also. With that said, He will need to get good starts to compete for wins in Supercross.

Roczen is without a doubt figuring everything out. He is one of the top 5 riders in the world at the moment imo and arguably the top rider.

I think 2017 is a learning year for Webb on the 450, I expect a few crashes due to trying to hard too early, but the competition will have to look out for him in 2018!!

My feelings exactly. I bet he'll do better than most think, but a rookie title might be a bit too far.

You don't need finesse.

Ask RV.

I'll kind of agree with this post. RV hammered the shit out of that bike. So did Stanton. He wasn't really a finesse guy. Hell, RJ really wasn't a finesse guy. Now, Hannah, that guy was buttery smooth. LaughingLaughingTongue

Somehow this is what alot of people are saying every year but then theres hardly anyone within 30 seconds of roczen/dungey/tomac.

I think Webb will mix it up with these guys by the mid/end of his first season. A one off race abroad on the 450 doesnt reflect his full season potential.

Yeah I see what you're saying there's definitely 3 that will be fast which already fills the podium. then there's probably 5 other guys who could show up and win on any given night.

If we're talking SX then i definitely agree. Short races where the top 8ish guys can all win with a good start.

MX i think the pack thins out. But i do believe Webb can be contesting for wins there too. If something clicks or doesnt click that can make a huge difference for the riders. Just look at roczen and tomac in 2015. Roczen being a top 5ish guy and Eli being absolutely unbeatable before crashing. My point; who knows what 2017 mx will bring Wink

As much as I will love for Webb to give Kenny hell, I don't see it happening this year. Then again, we have to see how Kenny adapts to the Honda.

Note that the OP said "in the next 5 years" - and I could definitely see those two locking in on each other. Basically, whoever Webb is battling with is going to be his rival anyway, just because of his mentality. He doesn't bromance with the competition haha!
9/26/2016 3:23pm
I'm sorry guys but Webb was a notch off of Anderson and Anderson was hurt. I think Webb will be battling around 5-6 place his rookie years probably with Blake Baggett. That's not bashing Webb I think he needs to gain some weight, and get used to the 450. He looks tiny on that thing.

2019 I think is when Webb will be chasing wins..

Webb has one of, if not the best riding techniques out of anyone right now as far as riding form goes. Finesse not as much as Kenny correct, but he rides the bike like it's supposed to be rode which will make him faster overtime (baby steps). But I agree in which I think it will take a year to be consistently Rocens speed on the Suzuki.

Cooper will have done well to make the top 5 in 2017 AMA, as others have stated.

That's is some tough sledding against Eli, Roczen, Dungey, Anderson, Barcia, Musquin.

2018? Look out!
