Is every track in SX this year going to have that fucking wall obstacle? Outside of pointless sand sections they have to be the worst. "How can we slow down these 46 second lap times? Hmm....let's add a wall!" Very lazy track design idea but hey maybe thats just me.

So you would rather just lanes of rhythm sections? At least it's an attempt to slow down the lap times. I don't mind them or the sand sections, anything to seperate men from boys is good with me.

I think multiple obstacles to challenge the racers including the sand sections are only a good thing like Bingslayer said imagine only having rhythm sections, triples and a set of whoops that would be boring.

I agree but there are certain times to use all types of variants to build a track I feel. The Jacksonville sand section from a few years ago was awesome and challenged everyone. Just think the track layouts this season so far have been so-so. But thats why we have 17 races maybe it'll change.

The problem is using football stadiums, which have smaller fields than most baseball stadiums, have very limited room to build a longer track.

If more whoop sections are added in an attempt to slow down lap times, It could also increase the number of lapped riders the leaders have to contend with because the top five riders are running significantly faster laps than the rest of the field.

More walls is good with me. Tired of the "Flying Wallenda Family" acrobatics.

I’m ok with the walls.
Isn’t it just another obstacle, just like all the rest?

I mean, FFS, what is there really to dislike about it??

Some of you just look for any reason to get emotional I’m sure..

Why not add in more than 1 wall, different heights could make it interesting - just please not before whoops (the longer the better) as I expect the top guts to blitz them

This track is apparently a replica of the 07 track
Might be one of the best races of all time for all the random and odd things that happen. And along with great battles.

Longer rhythm sections allow more places to pass. Most professional riders prefer the football stadiums.
Simple solution for increased lap times and better racing, LESS TRACK GROOMING. ( I'd even like to see hay bails in practice, to make more lines)

The sand sections are great and throws a wrench into the mix -not a fan of the walls though.

Yeah, I like the sand too, but the walls are pretty boring and pointless to me unless the very best riders can jump them...

Tomac’s wall jump at Daytona a few years back was higher. Tongue

For some reason I could see two walls separated by a modestly smaller double would be interesting. You’d have the slow down, followed by a snap double and immediately into another slow down. I think there’s a lot of room for error and position jockeying through something like that. Of course I’m no track builder so what do I know.

It doesn’t work tho... even if it adds a second, we’re sub 50 seconds laptimes, thanks to four strokes and less technical tracks... all walls do is just fucks up a passing opportunity.

Sorry but if you put today's riders and bikes on those tracks, they would look like a joke too.

The problem with this whole "tracks suck" thinking is that if you change them to make things more difficult, etc, SX will turn into even more of a meat grinder than it already is.

Every second adds up, Magila Gorilla! We need (a lot) more seconds.

And, these obstacles can create a passing opportunity. You do it better than others, and you make time on them.

They certainly look to be difficult things to deal with - without necessarily being dangerous, like so many other things in SX.

And No, it's not Four Strokes, it's that they are 250s and 450s, not 125s and 250s, respectively. Woohoo

I’d assume that the tracks have to be designed in such a way to produce similar lap times week after week? The entire production has to fit into a made for TV time slot.

Nah, man. 20 minutes is 20 minutes no matter how many laps are made.

Well, tracks nowadays are way more boring than they used to be ....

Split lanes, walls, sand, dragon's back, riders had options to make a difference on the track. Now, we have the whole 20 riders doing the exact same rythm sections on the track, i call for more sand, more walls, more obstacles to make it exciting and separate the guys on track.

Some of these guys can quad into turns, but cannot simply perform one sandy turn .... Crazy.

I’m a fan of sand sections and split lanes. Anyone remember the mud/water sections from the 1970s?

True..... that part went right over my head. There’s my blonde moment of the day. I’ll just let myself out the back door with my head hung in embarrassment.

Vince Freise slows the laps down at least a second or two. Riders are unsure what he’s going to do

This is very true about football only stadiums that are used for SX. I’d like to see a few more speedway SX tracks like the Daytona race.
