WA Riders... Horn Rapids

Edited Date/Time 1/24/2012 10:36am
I am making the run over to Horn Rapids this weekend.

I assume they prep the track on Wednesday for practice the next couple of days.... question for WA riders, how is the track in general? fun?

Horn is great. Probably some of the best practice I've ever had. The track isn't as gnarly as it used to be but it still gets pretty rough when a lot of riders are there. I've been there before a few times when it was just me and a buddy or few and the whole track to ourselves. It was a blast.

yeah, I remember when they wouldn't groom it for an entire week after a race day and they'd water the crap out of it. Got way rough. Still loved it though.

Its a sand track u might wanna know too. It gets hard pack in a lot of areas at times. Also its been known to get windy in the valley over there if that helps. Usually during the summer its pushing 100 degrees so u might wanna bring a shit ton of water and a e-z up. I usually bring 5 gallons of gas there and have about half a gallon by the time I leave.

Horn has been awesome lately. I rode there saturday and it was prepped and watered to perfection, and they were ontop of the water throughout the day. super fun layout, pretty high speed, no death jumps pretty much all tame table tops. We have had unseasonably mild temps here so far this summer so the heat shouldnt be too much of an issue. I'll probably be out there thursday.
