If James shows up and doesn't crash he an beat anyone, but factor in consistency, RV and RD can beat him for the title. Sorry I guess I should read the thread and said x3.

Man James has dug himself such a hole not sure if he can dig himself out. He should have kept his mouth shut forgot about being a star and rode. With all the " I am the greatest most unbeatable fastestest ever talk that's a lot to backup. To much pressure for anyone.

Unlikely. RV and RD will be very hard to beat next year. Add Canard and Reed to the mix and it gets even more difficult.

Well, Jay, you can put me down as " He's going to have his hands full." Running away with the main or the title? Nope. Good thread, btw.

My personal opinion is if James tries to find more speed than we saw last night, he'll hurt himself. I can't see going faster than that, IN CONTROL.

It's hard to say because the track that we saw last night isn't the kind of track that we will see in SX. In MX RV would probably walk him. I say that because it seems that James can't really help with setting up a bike. He's so good that even if the bike isn't set up right he can go out and make it look good, for a certain amount of time. He's going to push the bike past it's limits if he has too. If James were better at setting up a bike I think that he would amaze us even more.

No way. If James rides that fast it gets sketchy. RV is super fast but in great control. I still stand by saying last year that Bubba will not win another title.

No one gets faster by NOT racing, Look at guys like Hansen and Windham, they both struggled all night. Stewart may win a race or three but there is no way all this down time did him any good.

RV is the new RC...

Bubba was never that dominant..he was fast, but too erratic.

He will pull off a couple wins, but he'll be battling for 3rd in points.

Ummmm, did you see what James did outdoors in 2003 after being out 3 races of the MX series? Over his career, and that includes Am. racing, James has never really had a problem with his speed after being out for a number of races. It's not like he is coming back from injury. I sure that he is still riding at home and that has seemed to be good enough FOR HIM to maintain his speed.

Yep. He had more than enough speed to win the title. If you want to talk speed all I have to say is quad-quad. James not winning the title had nothing to do with his speed.

After watching the race I think RV was in the zone but had anyone challenged him I believe he had more speed left if needed and still not have to ride over his head. Was it me or did it sound like he was short shifting more than the others. His bike had a deeper tone than most I heard before the Crown started kicking in. James better be ready. Canard, Reed, and the rest of the best ain`t gonna be any slower.

You don't make the quad-quad without being able to hit it faster. Also, the comment was not that James would be faster the comment was that "no one gets faster by not racing." My point is that that hasn't really applied in James' case. Will RV beat him next year, he could, but like I said before the tracks that they will race next year aren't like the track that they races last night. Also, the tracks on the SX series are much less technical than they use to be. There are rarely obsticals that pretty much all of the top 10 can't do.

You're right. It has more to do with him being able to run that speed without wadding.
