Hi Blake!

What is the most difficult part about being a top-level pro rider? Lifestyle? Schedule?

Blake

is it true that when you signed up to train with A. Baker it cost a majority of what you made to pay for it ? and if so would you do it again ?

Blake,

I'm going to be honest, didn't start as a fan but I've really came around in the last few years. You just seem like a normal guy not stuck in your own fart bubble.

My question is, Do you think riders are too quick to leave a team when things aren't going right and teams are too quick to fire a rider for the same reason?

Thanks and good luck in SX this year!

Hi Blake,

With the US schedule taking a toll on riders between Supercross and Motocross would you ever consider doing a couple seasons of MXGP and is it something that you have any interest in doing? Yes? No? Why?

It would be cool to see another American give the MXGP's a try after Villopoto's short stint.

Regarding the El Chupacabra reputation for late moto passes, do you find it easier to ride your fastest generally when in front or from behind - like when you are forced to use a creative but fast line you might not have seen in the lead? I realize with some fast guys like Tomac ahead this can be hard, but this year you didn't make it look too difficult!

Blake,

You briefly spoke about the Stewart’s and there facility. What was it like being on a team with James? Was there a real team dynamic or did you each do your thing? Also, at what point in the season did you find out the Yosh Suzuki team was closing the doors.

You really seem to be jiving with the KTM. You really came out of the Yosh deal smelling like a rose.

It’s awesome being a pro rider. I like a fast paced schedule. I don’t like sitting on the couch, or “relaxing.”
I think the hardest part is staying healthy. We fly so much & we have late nights, early mornings. Hard to stay 100% all the time.

blake, been a fan for many years. Thanks for volunteering to do the q&a.

i understand that sponsor demands and a grueling schedule but please- if you're healthy. please race the des nations this year.

i get that it's not a well (if at all) compensated race.....but hopefully we can figure something out this year and going forward.

if the riders need to be paid via go fund me, or trackside collections - a lot of us moto fans would gladly donate.

feels like for the last bunch of years each des nations i'm so frustrated and disheartened by halfway through the day- cursing riders who won't go represent their country, monster energy for making their riders go run the useless gp rounds

i just want to see america win the des nations again. especially on us soil.. ...and if not - i want to know that our best riders were humbled and willing to step up to represent their country in a race all moto fans world wide hold near and dear, even if they lose.

i appreciate covington stepping up, and hell Seely, who is by no means a mx sniper even stepped up to go, delaying surgery and his prep for sx this season. I'll always cheer for seely now because of that.

i get that you're a pro and it's about getting paid but please answer the call, try to remember how you felt as a kid seeing that lamson, emig and mcgrath went over and stomped the dogshit out of the euros.......because for the last bunch of years US moto fans have looked on in horror as the euros have stomped us out, and it looks to many like our best are scared to go over and get embarassed and find any excuse to opt out.

you, tomac and zacho on top of the box with the star spangled banner playing. please sign on for that career highlight.
