I have a Ford Transit T250 Medium. It’s the medium length (170) I believe. It is the standard white. Looking to have it wrapped with a solid dark grey without any graphics. What would be reasonable price to pay? Any detail questions I should be asking? I’m in Alabama, not sure if the pricing is different in certain areas/states. Thanks for the input.

The last place I worked as an employee, maybe 3 years ago, they wrapped a full size cargo van with some pretty crazy, for HVAC work anyway, graphics. It was like theyhad ran the thing thru a rainbow mud hole or something.

Told me it cost them $3,000.

I would give a couple of wrap company’s in your area a call and get some estimates.

In California you’re looking at $3000- $4000, depending on company and material used.

If you just want a solid color, I’d get some estimates to get the thing painted before I dropped 3-4 G’s on a wrap.

Easily 4k.

there are a lot of youtube videos of people that have done the "spray dip" for a large van comes out to around $600 and $200 of that cost is the spray gun. so around $400 each time after.

Through a shop you for sure couldn’t get an all over paint job for 3-4K. Might be able to find someone to do it out of their barn for that but then you might wish you got it wrapped instead.

Just paint labor and materials not including any body work and tear down you’re at close to $4,000

Don’t forget about removal cost down the road too. I just removed one that had been out in the elements here in New England for ten years and it took over two long days. It was a pain in the a$$. The paint underneath did still look great though, so there’s that🙂

Thanks guys. So this appears to to be a nice little investment for sure. I find myself driving it a little more than my everyday vehicle. Might just have to pull the trigger either way to improve the appearance.

Heat and a lot of patience but, as you said, definitely a pain when it's old and weathered.

I'd just leave it white and buy another dirt bike with the money instead.

After a couple years, Plasti-dip looks hammered and removing it is a total pain. You're either better off painting or wrapping.

Also, if you live in constant sun or in a climate with salt, eventually the dark colors (black especially) turns a chalky gray unless you add some sort of UV protection.

I had it on my wheels and used a Glossifier to give the black a satin/ glossy look but after 2 years I removed it because it started to look bad. Took me a few hours to remove the plasti-dip from a set of wheels...I can't image how long it would take to remove it from and entire vehicle.

Drop the coin on the wrap or leave it white...

Good thing about white is it looks like a service vehicle (and stays cooler inside)...perhaps less of a target for thieves. It your van looks cool, thieves might think there's something in there worth stealing. Food for thought. (Search moto vans stolen in Atlanta...haha)

Good luck

Leave it white.

Or maybe paint the wheels black and wrap the hood and lower panels below the trim only.

I’ve seen a few dope Sprinters like that.

So what I learned from this thread, is that a wrap costs more than I pay for my whole vehicle

You have to know the right guys. Bought this truck from a wreck yard for $3,500, repaired for $2,000 including parts and whole truck painted in 3 stage paint and sold for $10,000.

sell it, take the 3-4k for paint/wrap and buy a new van in the color of your choice
