If you expect RV to beat AC in the sand your as crazy as someone who thinks AC will beat RV at GH.

two things for me, he is trying to get himself acclimated to what he will be doing in a few weeks, longer motos, slower pace to start out.

And that wasn't RV the entire video. The guy in the black gear is a lot bigger than RV. Could have been Rattray as well.

From an unbiased Euro - dont worry am sure RV will be fine, both he and AC222 and going to have good days and better days (than the rest of the field).

Track looks pretty brutal to me. To say he's going slow is just Bro.

Tough crowd. That track looked gnarly as shit, not sure how you could go much faster without completely wadding up. No need for a pre-season injury. I'm sure there will be tracks that RV might be completely blown away on, but as far as the title goes, RV knows how to win a championship.

@IceMan - Aside from his fitness, I think RV's biggest asset against the Euros is his intensity from gate drop to checkers. No need to change that up. Those guys seem to use the first few laps to settle into position, then mount a charge. RV is the opposite. He charges right off the bat, then determines if he needs to settle in or continue to charge. I think that will be the thing that catches most of them off guard.

AC Didn't look any faster & that is one shitty ass track!

I think he looked quite good - not dazzling but then neither did Cairoli in the vid posted of him (in the RV Italy thread) riding the same track a couple of years earlier. Truth is the former definition of what constituted good sand riding has been all but spoilt by Jeffrey Herlings. Suffice to say that Ryan will be fine. I don't think he'll beat Tony in sand even after further months of practice (only because TC has spent years mastering it) but he'll be close. Overall I think he's doing pretty much everything right to prepare. If you're going to do it, then this is the way.

I noticed more that his bike is lean as hell. Sounds horrible popping on deceleration.

Speed still looks top pro caliber to me, but I haven't had my eyeballs calibrated lately...

I think the upcoming RV domination will likely ruin the sport of motocross for a lot of Euro fans. It's basically like when the NBA's JR Smith travelled to China and made 14 3-point shots in one game.

Not the same type of sand...

From a psychological competitive strategy stand point, do you post videos of RV on his fastest laps, or his not so fast laps? I don't think posting a video of RV on rails is going to affect the confidence level of proven, Alpha type champs like Cairoli; however, posting videos of RV on his 2 or 3rd sight lap may allow the competition to underestimate...

Or it could have absolutely no effect at all and i'm just pulling this out of my ass.

We heard the whole Florida has sand tracks before the lommel mxdn. Based on team USAs performance and comments at that event I don't beleive that Florida sand tracks are like sandtracks in Belgium and holland.

Nope, can't say that I have, but all the sand track vids I've seen from Florida don't hold a candle to tracks like Lommel or Lierop. I could be wrong though.

EDIT: ^ 2strokebarrett beat me to the punch.

Where you are it is, not what you think in Clermont, I lived in the area for 20 years, different sand, still pulling for RV

Not to mention the guys in Florida truck in DIRT to build their tracks, since that's what they'll be racing on in SX and the Nationals. I'm assuming everyone goes to Florida for the weather, not to learn how to ride on sand.

Because it's not a freeway like Milestone Whistling

Sneaky tactic to use the worst camera possible to film his riding so that we can't actually see anything Grinning

That track isn't Lommel either...In fact that track looked more Florida sand than any I've seen in Europe so far. Regardless this is going to be a very interesting season and one I'm looking forward to watching...of course I'm not looking forward to the Vitards on either side of the pond who make it painful to follow any thread relating to US vs GP....
