Which one would you pick to be on your team given that you want them to:

1. Win championships
2. Make your brand look good
3.Get along with teammates
4. Not give the team a black eye

Bring it.

Lawrence. He is the nicer of the two and he gets more attention. He also has more raw talent to mold and work with.

Lawrence. He has more championships, wins, and consistency. Villopoto's always in trouble or getting suspended. He's such a troublemaker.

Got any more questions you'd like me to answer?

Let's make it really interesting and say that if you win a championship and make the brand look good to the public, the Factory pays you as the Manager a $1,000,000 BONUS.

Define "look good" It seems like you are trying to modify this argument so it is ideal for a golden boy type rider.

Villopoto for the simple fact that he's more reliable to be there on race day( yes even though he's been viral for a few weeks and not racing).

I agree mxx421. 3 outdoor championships in a row, 3 MXDN championships in a row, and the 07 West Coast Lites supercross championship help too.

If I was handed Resumes from both Jason & Ryan and I did not know anything else about them,I would hire RV.

Even knowing about the both of them,Jason would be too high risk. Smile
I would still go with RV.

Well, Villopoto for sure, but Lawrence does seem to be more comfortable on the big bike. If Lawrence ( I hate calling him J-Law) could just make it to the races every weekend most his antics would be irrelevant. At this point he is still too much of question mark. If this was 2 years ago when teams had money to burn he would have a 700,000$ salary locked up already.

I see the Villopoto of 09' like the Carmichael of 2000. Fast, but just a couple steps behind CR and JS like RC was to McGrath in 2000. He looks like he might need to build his upper body strength some more. That would make him more comfortable on the big bike. Lawrence just has talent oozing from his ears and doesn't need as much strength.

Man, that coffee made really chatty. lol

Alessi is going to smoke Villopoto in the nats.

I don't get why Josh Grant isn't in the discussion more. He seems even more comfortable on the bike than Villopoto does.

Grant does deserve alot of credit he picked his game up big time for the 450 class.
But if I had the chance to sign one rider for a 450 deal i would pick Adam Ciancirullo...in about 10 years. Smile

Villopoto> nice and very professional. Should be the leader of the pack for the outdoors.
Lawrence> at the Jax SX seemed really great with the fans around his pits during the day. Gets alot more pub. then ryan. both bad and good. can one or two good races save him and his sponsorships?

My choice would be Villopoto

Why is this even a question, one will have a great career and the other, who knows if he will even have a ride in 2 years.

It is a question because the one who is on inferior equipment with much less of a training program already seems to be more comfortable in the 450 class than the one who is supposed to be the next Carmichael.

Yea, why because he lucked into a second place?
