I am laughing my ass off reading this thread..... I read that Europeans literally project RV2 to finish 3rd or worse in the MXGPs. And when the conversation is strictly about AC222, many of them state Herlings is faster and Everts is flat out better (in regards to Herlings to be the man, you need to beat the man). The bottom line, AC222 is on of the best all time motocrossers in the world. Bar none. Villopoto, who is arguably one of the best riders is headed to Europe. This is a fucking treat for all involved..... two of the best all times going head to head. My pick is RV..... however, this will be his greatest challenge. May the best man win.

I think that's a minority, some react fighting fire with fire,I sure wouldn't know which way to bet right now,RV is one of the greatest riders the US has ever produced, possibly the best ever,he's had great preparation, his ideal teammate,a house near the sand tracks etc,it's the real deal alright,AC is awesome over a championship,Paulin and Desalle have had seasons cut short when they've seriously tested him but this should be his biggest yet,it'll be down to those two

As for AC and Herlings,as someone who's seen them both race,I'm the same as so many in the same position in thinking they'd qo with Herlings right now,the guy is incredible, hopefully you'll get to see him in the US this year
PressPassP, I heard the same from 2002 to 2004 about James "Bubba" Stewart destroying Ricky "The GOAT" Carmichael. As I and some predicted, RC raised his game. Herlings is an amazing talent..... as stated, to be the man you need to beat the man. By the way, what did AC222 do to Herlings at the 2013 MXDN? Why wont Herlings move to the 450F class? What is that signaling?

Cairoli is Mr consistent
RV crashes

None of them are immune to crashes. Maybe RV crashes a little bit more than Cairoli, but nowhere near enough to label him as a crasher, JS7 is a crasher. You can't point out the strengths of the other 2 and then only the weakness of Villopoto.

I think that Cairoli will win this title, but it will be incredibly tough for him
Good post, Obviously pulling for an RV title here but all top riders in the world deserve respect.

I predict RV will win at Qatar and this forum will erupt but over the season no one will touch mr consistent cairoli at some point this season. RV will be beat by someone from the UK too hopefully by tommy and shaun. if it's wet tommy and at lommel shaun

I understand the passion and dedication to your favorite rider, but these types of claims make you look a downright uninformed fanboy. I'm looking forward to this MXGP season as much as anyone on this forum and I cheer on riders from both sides of the pond as I respect the level of talent and dedication regardless where someone is from. With that being said, if you think Tommy S. or Shaun S. has any hope to smoke RV straight up in any one condition, then that tells me you don't know a damn thing about MX racing.

Unless RV has a mechanical, DNF or DNS which you could count all 3 on one hand over his career, there's no chance in hell either of these riders will come close RV. The closest they will come to him is when they are getting lapped in ANY damn condition. RV isn't a specialist on any one condition, he's a God Damn freak of nature that specializes in dirt bike racing in any condition. He grew up in WA where it rains half the damn year and the tracks are muddy as fuck. RV doesn't care if it's hard pack, sand, mud, loam, rock, land, sea, space, or wherever the fuck, he's going to go balls out full throttle till the checkers and your ass better be ready.
Straight up smoked.........speechless

Regarding Herlings,I know where you're coming from and totally respect your opinion, who knows how AC would handle things, but my take is:

1:We don't know KTMs take/influence on him moving up
2:He had a major injury last year in breaking his femur, hampering the rest of the season and most of the winter, with his 2015 season training and preparations unknown,he's only been back on the bike since early -I seriously doubt anyone in the same position would make such a huge career decision in going MX1
3:He's still very young to move up (same age as guys like Jessy Nelson etc)
4:like many I think he blew himself out at the MXdN,A 1st turn crash, back to back Motos and passing 38 riders eating shit didn't help,he's raced the 350 and most of these guys many times before, hopefully he'll run MX1 at Lommel Vs AC and RV Smile

I'm disappointed at the match up but looking at it I don't really blame the guy,I guess we'll have to wait until next year,
