Man that sucks. Holly made a point on supercross live that I've always believed (but Im old school too) he said he almost always stayed WITH the bike rather than eject because he felt no matter how bad its always better to have 12 in. of suspension underneath you. It seems like the new style is to eject .

You should eject if you're going to land on the face of a jump because the suspension is useless if you're torpedoing into the face but the more I watch it the more it looks like he might of been able to case it and maybe ride away. Tough call though, we've all been there though where immediately it doesn't feel right and you eject.

Oh man that hurt watching!

In that case, he should have rode it out. He would have gotten some suspension action to take the initial hit.

That being said my broken femur came from casing a big ass double with the frame...in mid air I was in control, but short, so I thought "fuck it" I'm riding it in. My left femur shattered on impact. So did my left arm. Then the crossbar cracked my sternum, broke most of my ribs, punctured my right lung, and to add final insult...when I flipped over the front my right shoulder received a third degree separation along with a concussion for good measure.

I still think - had I jumped - it may have been worse. Flying forward and landing feet first can result in a shear of the vertebrae as the bottom half of the body stops and the top half wants to keep going.

Ouch
That was painful to even watch, hope he heals up with no complications

Kinda reminds me of Burner ejecting over the triples in Indy in the early 2000's

Dislocated hip is no joke. I had a posterior dislocation back in '03. The most painful injury I have ever had.

Morphine is good but if you want good pain control. Dilaudid is much more effective at pain management.

Bummed for Tracy. I've known him and his family since he was on mini's. To make matters worse, he was only .087 of a second away from qualify for the night program in his first SX.

You obviously have little knowledge of physics / engineering. When you spread out deceleration over a longer time period, the magnitude of peak deceleration and thus stress is reduced.

He should of just case that. If your endo'n over a triple n faced with the decision to land on your head or jump then you jump. When your staring at a hard case you take it n absorb it best you can. 9 out of 10 times you should atleast walk away with no serious injuries usually just sore wrist or back. This just plain sucked to watch happen today, I wondered if he was in to low of a gear n ran out of motor.. I did hear golden was in the main line n he had to switch up his line.

Ding ding ding!!! We have a winner!!! ALWAYS subscribe to the "bounce method" of crashing...let the bike absorb what it will. The sad part is, that when Ken Roczen did the same thing in Oakland, he CRUSHED that bike into the ground because he KNEW they would put another brand new one under him. The poor privateer, in an attempt to save his motorcycle, sacrificed his body.
