He’s 53. He’s the favorite in the 50+ class tomorrow

This was Hurley’s second Over-40 World Vet Championship title—he won his first back in 2016. Kurt Nicoll’s runner-up spot in the Over-40 race was significant because Kurt is 53-years-old and the favorite in Sunday’s Over-50 World Championships event.

OK, I was thinking about another rider, now that I think about it. Who almost won the MXGP title in '12 or '13, but got injured? He's an aussie or kiwi.

your thinking of Josh Coppins, who almost won the MX1 title in 07, and had a 100 plus point lead and got hurt, and raced the world vets a couple of years back, got second to sleeter in plus 30 after winning plus 40 on saturday

hes a kiwi as well,

But seriously. Where was John Dowd, Earl May, Doug Dubach, and a host of other geriatrics that still haul ass?

Looked through the results and am curious, was this considered a good turnout? Some classes seem pretty thin.

John was at the Southwick JDay, and finished 6th OA, just behind his son.
