Pretty cool not hearing Cobra’s at the track.
Here are the entry counts:
I’m racing Plus 25 and Plus 30, and there are some good racers here. Both my classes are the largest two and I don’t yet know how the divisions will be split other than your heat will still count as a moto score. 3rd moto is not a main.
Something you need to know if you pre entered on the MX Sports website- you did NOT pay to race. You paid to reserve your spot in your class and be eligible to qualify for the national. Once you arrive and need to sign up, you will have to pay your race entry fee to the track. Here at Riverside it was $50.
Here’s how it adds up:
$40 to get in for the weekend
$15 for overnight parking
$60 per class to MX Sports online
$50 per class to event promoter
$100 transponder deposit
$30 transponder rental charge
$35 practice per class
The transponder people really want cash and exact change.
Yeah it’s expensive, but let’s be honest, we’re all doing just fine here.

A buddy of mine is in both your classes. #623 on an RMZ.

How'd first Moto go jeff? I always dream of being first Moto at a regional. Specially now that I'm older. I wish I was there.
Instead I'm at some dock dog training place in amish country ohio. Lol
I pulled 2nd off the start, passed Nick Click in the rhythm, led 5 laps, Justin Kelly got past me and we freight trained for a tight 1-2. The track is absolutely perfect and I uncorked a long jump of two rollers in the woods. Kelly picked it up behind me. Click finished third.
Plus 25 moto 1 division 2 -
2nd off the start again but this time behind Depringer and his ultra fast Wing. We dropped the hammer and had a nice 1-2 finish from gate to checkers.
The 450 is awesome. The power is so manageable yet racy. I knew I was a top starter, just needed to double the strokes for the open bike classes. I could use some factory connection suspension but for now I’m happy with the handling.
2/2 with badass starts, the pro taper SELA is awesomely easy to engage by myself.
Or am I missing something?
Most local races that use this same crew for transponders (Byron, Sunset, ...) include the cost of the transponder in the entry fee. It is just the big races like this where the fees typically go thru the roof.
