I’m on a 450 simply because every damn track in NC seems to have start straights that make Glen Helen seem like an arena cross start straight. I tried a 250F last year and no matter how good of a jump I got, I’d get pulled about 2/3’s of the way down and passed by 10 bikes. I generally came through the pack, but I don’t like having to do that every single Moto. I prefer the 250F, but I’ve been racing the 450 this year.

What do you guys run and why?

A 125 because it’s more fun than anything else. Sunday I raced 30 A and went from 15th to 3rd in moto 1 and 7th to 2nd in moto 2. Spring Creek doesn’t pay any classes but 250 A and 450 A, and I would’ve been by myself in 250 A. I’d rather battle in a fun class on a 125 instead of walk away on a 450.

I mainly race my FC350, but i have lined up a couple times this year in 45+ on my 150sx for the fun of it. It has taken me 2 years to finally get good starts on my 350 against the 450s. Needless to say, the races on the 150 are alot of battling through the pack. Its a blast though

17 CRF450. I had more fun/rode better on a KX250F but torque is fun sometimes.

17 kx250f. I typically battle my way backwards in the pack. But still have fun.

I like a man that tells the truth. Your tag line is spot on as well.

Wish I would have kept mine. Was a fun bike just wind out.

Usually always the Alta MXR because I spin the fastest lap times on it and don't get as tired compared to my other bikes.

Sometimes i'll bring out the 125 to get a workout against guys on bigger bikes:

2018 YZ250 2 stroke. In Australia vet class is 35+ so I've only just hit the vet class. Why? I like riding 2 strokes, dislike riding 450's and have an advantage on the start over a 250f

Mostly my 16 KX450, I’m getting ready to sell it so my 06 KX250 is going to start getting some much deserved use. I ride both equally as well but I can ride longer smoother on the 450.

My 17 CRF450 is dialed in and fun but not close to as much fun as my 96 CR250

450 is the easiest bike to go fast on longer at 53yrs old for me. 250 two stroke is 10x more fun to ride but also 10x more effort.

YZ250. Easier to ride for longer once set up right. Easy to maintain and cheap. A 450 would wear me out. I’ve ridden a 350 a handful of times and they are great bikes as well.

144 cuz it’s fun as hell. But then got pissed because I’m getting smoked off the line with 450s. So got a 350 to help me to the first turn.....

Every vet stable should contain: one 144cc and one 350.

2019 yz250f, because I can rein it in when I make a mistake (which i do a few times a year). I love the 450 but when it goes bad it breaks me up, literally.

'05 RM250 smoker. The sound, smell and smile it creates is what MX is all about.

2018 FC350. Not enough torque to get me in trouble but way more than a 250F and a lot more power than a 250F too. Easier to ride longer, at least for me. And when I get tired I still feel like I can ride the bike as opposed to the bike riding me.

Had a 16 KX450 and sold it about a month ago. Just got a new 19 KX450 but I haven't got to ride it yet. My riding buddy rides a RMZ450 and races more than me. He has it dialed in and does pretty well on it.

I used to ride a 250f but love the low end torque of a 450. I do have a 16 KTM 125sx just for fun.
I raced the 125 once in a vet class just for the hell of it. Not a good choice. lol

19 kx450 and it's the best bike I've ridden . 125s are fun but at 200 lbs and shit corner speed the 450 is a blast to ride even easier the the 350 I had

I am riding a TX300 both on the track in the woods. Great bike and lots of fun, heading down to race amateur days at Washougal on it. Braaaap! I get a lot of funny looks rolling to the gate with a kick stand lol.

YZ250F- Because Mike LaRocco is my hero and I love coming through the pack. I can usually get a mid pack start and then I see how far I can go forward. +25 and +30, next year +35 too!

‘18 KX450. I’m 230 (trying to get better but 210 is skinny for my build). I also prefer to short shift vs rev, making a 450 better suited to me. I’ve tried several 250’s and absolutely hated every one.

I do have a 250 smoker as well, but I only ride it a few times a year just for fun.

19 KTM150SX, becasue its fun, lose a bit on starts, but i am not after trophys and passing guys screaming around the outside is fun, esp when they are on 450's with a pipe that they are scared of most of the time,
