Amazing to watch. Gary Bailey just uploaded it today.

Regarding JS259 - just wait for it!

RC must've been still running that funky/unorthodox bike setup back then. Bars are nearly rolled back into his lap.

Ricky trying that triple at 3:15ish was sketchy as.. And I knew Stewart did that 'quad' (Shutuuup it's a quad) and I knew it was comin when he cut the track to get a clear run but it still made say 'faaark' out loud when he did it haha

2 Strokes, Tech 8s, and Video Game Sponsor signs everywhere. Man I miss it!

Reed's bars look so tall to me, maybe its just because there is no crossbar. I also love how all those bikes were so freaking clean. They didn't look like the fender of a NASCAR race car. Factory bikes were so good looking. They're still super sick today, obviously, but it was different then.

So cool to watch this.

So much to like here;
Technical track, low speeds, the lites guys are basically riding a different track. the sound of 2 strokes, 3 of the greatest SX riders ever, RC sending it through the whoops when he is clearly not getting through them comfortably, Chad was freakin on it in 03, James on a 125 is just something to behold..

You couldn’t tell Stew was on a 125. He was hitting things like he was on a 250.

Back when practice was indeed... Practice, and not a freight train follow the only one developed fast line.

to the folks who were critical of Reed continuing to line up last year... when you consider how long ago this was it should be seen as an incredible accomplishment that someone could even run at the professional level for this long

I think there's a video on YT of Ricky and Chad trying it, Chad almost dies the 2nd time and neither one of them did it again after that lol.

Bubba did it a few times in the night show until he wadded himself. I still remember watching that race as a kid wayyy back when.

As time goes on, I forget just how fast he was on that 125. The quad was cool, but the corner and whoop speed was more impressive. Homeboy won practice, for sure.

Seriously! I loved seeing it on TV when it aired but that clip... Wow, he was soaring! Not to mention the table had a lip at the end which I never noticed watching on TV.

It's in the last 5-7 minutes for anyone who missed it.

Gary’s channel is gold
Gary the real MVP. His footage is perfect for being almost 2 decades old. Any race footage looks like it was re dubbed through 26 vhs tapes

I was never able to understand how Honda made the CR250 work for RC so well. I swear the shock never had more than 3" of travel...lol. He had such short legs that it seemed like they had to set the shock so that it was always riding 3/4 up in the stroke

Yeah same. Can't imagine what was going through the head of the yam guy behind him, no doubt a very accomplished rider himself (by the fact he's out there). Been there myself when on track with a pro rider, but then James of course is yet something else completely... The things he could do and get out of that little125 will never again be replicated. Just incredible. Damn but I miss the sport the way it was back then.

Set up!? The bike looks broken. Haha
I was at Indy 2003. It looked just as bad in person.

This was awesome! Perfect display of Stew's style, speed, and skill. One of the greatest 125 riders ever.
Thanks for posting! I wish we could go back in time but this will have to do.

Took whole session for them to jump the little triple out of the left hander. Would’ve happened first lap nowadays. Love how it was back then.

Quad at 22:45, and after screwing up the corner too!
I feel like he only did it to see if he could. So rad.
