I'm going to be looking soon for a used 125 for my son. What kind of money should I be expecting to pay for a low hours 03-06 YZ, CR or KTM 125. Looking for something preferably in Minnesota or Wisconsin but anything in the midwest will be considered.

Keep in mind, I'm not ready to buy anything yet, but I need an idea what I'm looking at.

There are new CR125's (06) going for $3100.00 Of course they are supposed to be the turd of that class. Nice used 125's can be had from $1500.00 - $2500.00. I see nice 03 CR125's for $1300.00 quite often between Craigslist and Ebay. Look for one with all the good parts added on already. Buy it cheap and freshen it up. There are a ton of used bikes out there going cheap. Everybody talks about how expensive this sport has gotten, when in reality you can get in cheap and have a blast. How many of us really need a cheap piece of plastic come raceday anyway? Heck, who really needs to race when practice days are cheap and you get as many laps as you can stand...

Kinda going through the same thing here. Looking for one for my daughter. Going to go look at a 02 YZ125 tonight, 1200 bucks, and the guy said he is cool with payments. Kinda of a friend of a friend, who doesn't really need the money, so I'm thinking 900 and payments. whooohoooo!!!

That's a sweet ride. It's a bit more than I was looking at spending plus you are just a bit too far from me. Thanks for the pics though.

A bunch of us on my website all bought 125's this winter to play around with this season, I can't wait!

Here's mine waiting to be ridden. 2006 YZ, 139cc Maxpower kit, FMF exhaust, Vforce reeds, race tech springs. Rode it once before winter hit and the thing runs like a works bike!

My little brother just sold his 01 CR 125 for $1400. I thought he did pretty good considering the way the market is with bikes in general and 2 strokes.

PitRacer, that is probably the sweetest garage set up I've ever seen.. You have any pictures of the RM's in the back? " title="Laughing">

Funny you say that. The bikes are actually in my basement, and NO it's not a walk-out! My wife helps me "roll" my winter projects through the kitchen and down the steps each year. I'm in the process of finishing the basement into a "motocross man cave" but obviously have a long way to go.

RM's are '87 250 and '83 125. The '87 is a little nicer now than in this pic, I've been working on it a bit this winter.

Holy shit Pitracer that is the sweetest 125 I've seen in a while! Does Factory FX sell those kits? And where did you get the white tank?

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with it and will almost be sad to ride it!

Flu Designs makes the retro graphics kit and Clarke MFG makes stock capacity tanks in different colors.

Straight north of D-23 in WInnipeg. What part of Ontario are you in? I've got some buddies down in WI that I'll be seeing at the Minneapolis SX, I'll get them to keep an eye out.

Kawasaki, yamaha, honda all have some upcoming dealer auctions that will have some 2strokes in them that dealers will be able to purchase and pass the savings on to the consumers.

Lastweek Yamaha auction had some yz125/250 in there but they wanted too much for us to buy them, some dealers were picking them up though.
