I Placed an order for some bearing tools and other things, shipped in three different packages. One package arrived, the second arrived but required $16.85 COD, which I refused the package. My order qualified for free shipping. Called RMATV and was on the phone for 30 minutes. They realized the mistake, but to get the rest of my order back to me I needed to reorder and pay again, but would be refunded when they received the package. I know, 1st world problems, but seemed kinda shitty to me how RMATV was. Motosport has always been easy to work with when mistakes were made. They've sent the wrong part before and told me just to keep it and still sent me the correct part.

Rant over

Ok, as a result of you posting this I will continue to use RMATV as my primary source of parts and maintenance items.

Or you could build a relationship with your local shop and do business there

Sounds reasonable of them. RMATV has always treated me great.

A lot easier to walk in to the local guy and just, I don’t know let them hand you your parts.

Don't really have a local shop for tools.

I like this option in theory, but RMATV is better in almost every way. Faster service, lower price and larger selection.

Like I said, it was tools. I'll take the flaming, I've just had better experiences with motosport, figured I'd give a review. I'm glad they're good for you guys or you have a local place.

Understand. Motosport has made mistakes before too, but didn't make me pay again to ship the order for their mistake. I know I'm being a bitch.

Does motosport even have a brand of budget moto tools like RM has Tusk? From my experience RM has them beat. Plus they do the RM Race Gas program that a lot of my local tracks use, I get 10 bucks back from my ride day cost to put on a future order.

I've had great service from both over the last 8 years.

Great in theory, but nobody carries part inventories anymore other than generic stuff. I try to do what I can locally. Just most local shops don't have the parts. I hate E commerce and prefer doing business in person.

I always have loved how motosport will show that they have my items in stock then once I check out and give them my money they will inform me that it will take A week or two to get said items stocked and shipped......never fails

Motosport doesn’t, which is why I looked into RMATV. I’m just being whiny, I was hoping to work on my engine over the long weekend. I just feel that RMATV could’ve done a little better IMO.

RMATV lost my business with their shitty customer service. My last 3 orders arriving late due to them not getting it out of the warehouse in a timely fashion.

Don’t offer a service you can’t provide.

I’ll go to Motosport from now on, they have been on it!

I had the EXACT same shit fit years ago. I saw it just the same as you.

But I realized you just have to do it that way. Sad to say, you can't "just trust" everyone (or anyone)

But I thought the same as you. My wife and I had a real fight about it.

Took years, but realized I was wrong.

Look at it like this, You don't know me and I don't know you, but you bought a widget from me and later told me it was broke when you got it. Was fine when I shipped it.

Now, I ask you to ship it back, I'll pay for shipping and refund it after I inspect it....but you want your refund now, before I get to inspect it.

That's not fair

It's business, not personal

Quit your whining. Can’t believe anyone would feel the need to publicly complain about something so petty.

I feel like RM opinions probably depend a lot on whether you're within their OnTrac shipping area. 90% of my orders arrive in two days, basically free Prime shipping. Once in a while though they've used Fedex Ground on me though and that's just bad service. I'm not going to bad mad at Fedex Ground for sucking that's simply what they do, I always place the blame on the retailer for using them.

A couple of years ago, I ordered a blind bearing puller set and bearings from them. The puller set wasn't as cheap as on Amazon but, it got me over for free shipping and made the job 10x easier. A few weeks later, I got an email saying that they had just dropped the price $20 on the puller set and since I had purchased at the old price within 30 days, they gave me a credit for the difference. That's A+ customer service in my opinion.

OnTrac is hot garbage.
Maybe on the east coast then. Two days UT to CA, sometimes even only one.

I basically can't buy from Rock Mountain anymore. The local Sacramento OnTrac location is full of thieves. I had long given up on having anything on time and was fine with that, but it's literally a 50/50 coin toss as to whether or not they'll steal the package. And after working at another place in Texas having to deal with a pos UPS thief, I see the importance of being able to opt out of any shipper, because the quality of service of any of them is very regional.

Motosport is a hot mess. They had a free shipping sale so, I ordered some spare parts for my knee braces. Of course, they didn't have them and put them on back order. Every month or so, they would send me an email saying that I would get them when EVS delivered. This went on for months(no biggie, they were spares). After I think four months, I got an email saying that the parts were discontinued by the manufacturer and my order was cancelled. Od course, I called EVS and they told me the opposite and that they were in stock. I just laughed it off and ordered the parts from EVS. A few days later, I get one of the two supposedly discontinued parts from Motosport. Once again, I just laugh and go with it. A couple of days later, I stat getting nasty emails from Motosport telling me that I need to PayPal them money. After a WTF? email explaining the whole series of events to someone at Motosport, he explains that it took so long that my cards pre approval was now invalid and they couldn't charge the card. I paid and now use them as little as possible. BTW, I never got the second half of the order.

Since the advent of the lockdowns, business has exploded for all online merchants at a time when it's been almost impossible to find new employees. Be grateful that you're still getting the parts you need and that RM is doing their best to take care of you.

This whole clusterfuck of a post is why I use BTO.

Always get a straight answer and that 10% discount is nice when you have a couple grand in parts getting ordered.

If they don’t have it, I go local or order direct from MFG.
