Urgent advice needed for xmas gifts!

12/6/2016 11:57am
Hey!

I'm looking to buy some MSR gear for my boyfriend for Christmas and I don't know too much about them so I need some advice please!

In normal trousers/pants he's a 32" waist and I was wondering how true to size they are? Could he get away with a 30" or would they be too tight? Any opinions would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance x

You will need a 34 pant most likely. I am a 31 waist in jeans and 32 in mx pants.

32in MSR pants are the correct size. They fit true to size.

Theres also lots of women who don't support their man's passions/hobbies at all... Why you knocking her for buying him gear? Not every girlfriend or wife can afford a new bike either.

I usually fluctuate between 30 and 32 in both mx gear and regular clothing. I'd stick with a 32 and medium jersey to be safe. I'm about 1.77 meters and 72 kg for reference. I wear a large t-shirt, but I always go for small or medium jerseys.

I think it was meant as a joke...

For the size it's very brand specific, Fox I usually go +1-2 on jeans size and TLD I go -2 at least. Jersey I go with Medium as I don't like them floating around but am not a big guy, 70kg for 1m78.

As someone posted MSR seems to be true to the size so go for 32 with L or M jersey, I would go for a fit t-shirt size equivalent.

Men's clothing isn't too crazy, if he wears a 32 waist then you should buy a 32.
Btw, rockymountainatvmc.com and some of the other sites will give you free return shipping if you order the wrong size.

Thanks so much everyone for your advice, it's so helpful!

I went for the 32" pants in the end and a large jersey as it was the only one left in stock that was matching but I'm sure it will be fine.

And don't worry I got the joke! Trust me if I could afford to buy him a new bike I would, he needs the new gear more though, haha.

Here's hoping he likes it!

Do you have any pics of yourself and boyfriend at a beach or pool? It would be easier for us for sizing.

Maybe you could just cut your boyfriend out of the pic.
