He is something that motorcycle racing has never ever seen.

He could've just cruised the last part of the race but he decides to make that move on Zarco and almost goes down.

Any other rider in that situation would've crashed with a 99,9% certainty. It was jaw dropping. It was his best save in his career, the amount of speed(over 100mph) that they carry through the first corner is insane(for a 90 degree corner) and to save the front end like that should be impossible!

Freddie Spencer did something similar to that back in the late seventies racing the 500's. He was in the lead battling with Kenny Roberts. One difference though; Freddie didn't lose the lead.

Marquez really is the real deal. I think he could win on any type of surface on a motorcycle, he just has that desire to win at any cost. Pretty special guy, he is the continuation of Roberts, Rainey, Sheene, Schwantz and Rossi.

I don't know about "never ever seen" but what he accomplished this year considering the amount of times he ended up in the gravel is really impressive. Let's not forget about Rossi, Stoner, and Simoncelli.

That being said, the battles with Dovi in Austria and then in the wet in Japan were some of the best and most exciting racing of the year.

It was a pretty awesome year to be a MotoGP fan.

I'm pretty anti Marquez and was definitely on the Dovi train but after that save I thought 'yep he can the title that was bullshit!' haha Incredible save and like someone said above you've gotta respect the fact he could've very easily just rolled around.. Maybe I should be a fan.. I dunno.. I'm so confused haha

Yeah he's kinda hard to like in one sense and hard not too in another. Dude goes for it that's for sure.

I'm still amazed when i watch these saves. It requires incredible amounts of strength and skill.
Fair enough, but I don't think its a much of a difference given how far gone the front end was and how far he was canted over in both situation. I have no idea how he manages to re-engage the front tire in either situation; so often it either continue to wash out or (especially in the 500 smoker days) catch and throw the rear around in a highside.
