He was on Blue Buffalo Yamaha at LL as well, and I believe he just wanted to go straight to the 450 class.

The A/B class isn't very full, as you can only race two classes at LL and the big names focus on Open Pro Sport and 250 Pro Sport (which were won by Bradley Taft and Chase Sexton).

I watched an interview a while back about his different riding disciplines (MX, CC, and maybe enduro) he was racing in. I think the majority, if not all, he was riding a 450. So, continuity probably had something to do with it.

Im not saying this is the gospel but ballpark'ish.
