Ralph kept saying no rider had ever won their first race in the "premiere " class.
Never mind riders back in the early days, but how about mark barnett who if I remember right, had to beg suzuki to let him race supercross while he was in the hunt for the 125 mx title and then went out and won his first ever sx race in 1979.
How about Sebastian tortelli? I am thinking he won his first ever American sx.
Is my memory right or is it playing tricks on me like yesterday with my car keys?

His second SX was LA in 98 and he won.
Barnett raced Supercross in 78 and won his first SX in 1979. His 9th SX.

Wait, what about Hill. Didn’t he win minny 08 on debut after passing RD and reed went down?
Having said that, Reed is nothing short of bad ass.
I've had memory failures before but if so, one is kind of like a freebe?
