Title says it. Really not trying to sit in the parking lot for 3 hours in 107 weather.

If cars can't get out quickly....how would Uber/Lyft get out quicker? It's going to be a mess...the
HWY is going to be a parking lot. Ride a bicycle in or a DP/ADV bike.

I'd rather walk a mile than sit in that again. I have two electric bikes, but my girlfriend is a clutz and is not gonna ride a bike. Just trying to find a solution. Getting out is something else. Makes me want to come late and miss the first 250 moto so I can park near the gate.

I think they may have a bus going by what that site says.
Probably much cheaper than an uber .
I'd look into it and see if you can find some sort of schedule and times in regards to the bus.
Probably want to make sure they have service to the track that day.
https://www.outdoorsy.com/guide/fox-raceway-national

From that site

Public Transportation
Even though Pala is a small community, it knows how to cater to visitors. If you don’t want to park your RV at Pala’s Fox Raceway motocross track, you can leave it at your accommodation. You can then jump aboard the bus that has a regular schedule and bus stop directly outside Fox Raceway. Make sure you check the timetable to see if times and days align with when the action is kicking off.

Definitely a solid idea. We're staying in Temecula though, doesn't look like the bus goes there. We could drive to a bus stop I suppose. Worth looking into, thanks!

No car truck bus or Uber will be moving anywhere if you wait until the second motos are over.

Bring a Helicopter or a hot air balloon if you need to leave quickly.

Normally, the local move is to take Pala Temecula road north out of the Pala village through the mountains to Temecula Parkway or De Portola Rd. west toward Wine Country to get to the I-15 instead of getting stuck for days on highway 76.

Otherwise, stop at the Casino and have a cold drink and sit, because that traffic will be a shit show after the race.

Does your car not have AC?

When you book an uber premium you have the right of way, so everyone just moves

Honestly you may run into trouble even finding an uber in range out at Pala.

Never been, but shit - why not bring a pop up & embrace the wait? Hang out, drink some beers while the parking lot clears. Last hoorah of the season!

Since you are in San Diego, you could leave the raceway and head EAST on 76 towards Pauma Valley and then south through Valley Center. Really not that big of a detour and would beat the hell out of sitting in traffic.

First race this year they did not allow left turns onto 76 east, from the track entrance - they used both lanes going west for a bit.

Honestly, as much as it kills me to do so, I think I'm just going to leave halfway through the last moto. It literally took 3 and a half hours to leave the track last time. I just can't do it. Lol.

It would be cheaper to rent a room at Pala Casino and ride a scooter over to the racetrack than trying to secure an Uber ride in/out of there. The traffic is going to be atrocious.

If there's one race to watch from the comfort of your couch, it's this one. Heat is going to be brutal and Pala is a hellhole of a place on top of that.

You can make your first left after leaving the track and take Lilac road through Lilac and get back on the 15 that way. It takes longer than the 76 when there's no traffic, but with bad traffic it will be faster.

I'm not one for telling people how to live... but why even go if you aren't going to watch the end of the 2nd 450 moto?! Mail the track a check and watch it at home!

Part of Lilac is dirt....at least the last time I rode down into Pala several years back. Just a fair warning if you're driving a Porcshe or something nice.... lol

To be honest, it's not even the highway that sucks the most. It's getting out of the parking lot. But thanks for the tip! We're staying in Temecula for the weekend, so headed north not south after.

Hahaha! I feel you. I was honestly hoping they'd run the 450's first. Either way, if missing out on part of the race means I don't have to sit in the parking lot for 3 or 4 hours, I'm ok with it. I can watch it after. I just like going in general

I know, we're staying at all air bnb in Temecula. I've gone to pala a few times and every time I get trapped in the parking lot and just sit there not moving for hours and hours. I've never been to such a terribly ran sporting event in my life.

Because I could walk a mile down the road and get an uber from there. I'd rather walk for 20 minutes than get trapped in the parking lot until 2023.

Washougal has two roads in and out that converge near the road to the track - thus the last few miles are one road.

We watch all the motos and then tailgate for a few hours and then leave. Lots of fun and casual. About 7 PM the road is clear and smooth sailing....

Correct. I'd think that whatever people drive around on the dirt road and parking lot at the track can also handle Lilac. It wasn't bad last I took it a year ago.

Screw that. Championship down to the last race with only a one point gap. If I lived close I'd be there

The casino has a large parking ramp. Maybe you could just park there all day and walk to the track if you’re down to walk that mile or whatever it may be.
