Saw this on the fron page of cnn....sweet looking ride that's both electric and gas, that they say can run on just about any gas including diesel, av gas, and many others. Who makes this....looks like a ktm.

I believe it has to be made in 'Merica if it is being used by the US military, so no ktms... Sad

Looks halfway decent though, wonder if they'll actually use it

KTMs

The military uses every manufacturers bikes. KTMs are the most widely used but have seen some of every brand.

Also the military does not use Av gas, they use (mostly) JP4 and 8 which are mostly Kerosene mixes.

From the above linked article on BRD racing bikes:

"The energy density is what brings the RedShift bikes to performance parity, or in some cases, superiority over internal combustion equivalents. Other electric motorcycles have been unable to compete directly with internal combustion, the CEO said."

BS.

They still can't compete directly. Torque maybe, but the cost is double that of a gasoline machine. That's not parity.

And that original vid from CNN? What idiot put that together- it was a whole lot of nothing! Pieces of old promo vid from electric bike start-ups, overlaid with nonsensical text. Those bikes pictured are not hybrid, nor are they military. Nice front brake line routing on that puppy by the way. Sheesh. What am I missing?

Maybe I'm just feeling grumpy.

Isn't this the bike that Keefer was testing. The company is known now as Alta Motors. $14,999 for a MX version. Good luck with that....

We shipped 5 bikes in full camo wrap to the military to test exactly like this when I was working with Quantya USA. Quantya is from Switzerland.

They say the only noise is from the tires, but they are Chain driven!!!
Chains make far more noise than the tires!

Seeing those two on the Landoll together makes me wonder, do Polaris and KTM still have a partnership? If I remember correctly, KTM was making engines for Polaris at one time.
