I went twice. I LOVED it. Small venue, tight arenacross track, and could walk straight from the MGM Grand into the venue!

I think you hit the nail on this one. It was like a Supercross race broke out inside the casino?!

Walking through the casino to the race it had a very unique 'family industry' local vibe. Sort of like an SX version of Mammoth.

I cleaned up there when I was 13, crutching around with my broken femur. Stew and Antunez were too superstitious to sign my crutches and they gave me jerseys instead.

I loved it. I met GuyB for the first time, watched Tyler evans get dissed by some door girls and then they flipped the script after a few families lined up to take pics and autographs with Evans. Played blackjack just me and Fonseca together. Great racing on tiny track tho. Barcia on 85s.
I took all vegas money and paid for trip and then some. i only took $100 out first day and turned it into two weeks in celebrity suites in mgm then Ceasars Palace and sushi 3 times a day. Good times.

Bring it back.
Not to be that "old" guy again, you could but it would have to be on two strokes... todays 450's would make it quite boring. Far too much power with no room to begin with. Eric Perronard is the guy for it .

This kind of "Arenacross" race with all the big guns could possibly also work in Reno or NY. Not?

Loved those races.
Eric did a fantastic job putting that whole thing together.
Even stayed for the am days on Sunday, like we didn’t get enough the 2 pro days prior.
Our kids were young, racing was always intense, great memories.
Can’t be repeated.

I think so. Poker club and Friends call me David Blane. Great luck, horrible timing and health issues. I'd swap them up if i had a choice. lol
Metcalf getting his first win was really cool too. Weimers first pro ride on Josh Grants Amsoil Honda. I didnt know anything about weimer as an am but we were seated next to Grant and right behind Weimer and his dad and got the whole scoop and became insta fans. Even got Jlawed. I thought he was racing and we happened to be standing next to Josh Hansen in line and Jlaw walks up. We said good luck to them and Jlaw told us he was pumped and ready but was not even racing. Ha Excellent. Good times.

I loved it. Actually raced the arenacross championship there in 2003 the day after supercross. I was 18 and had a blast.

As a kid that race was like Christmas.

With that said, if anyone has the programs from The US open 98’- 03’ I’d be willing to pay…….

Went the first 2 years, and another 1 a few years later, it was a really incredible experience.

Almost surreal to be in MGM gambling/drinking/looking at hot girls, and then just walk down a short indoor corridor and be at at SX race (yes a small version).

And after the race was just about everyone in the industry at the tables (or bars), you could just walk around at each table was someone you recognized. I sat at a blackjack table with Mitch and I think it was Bones (?- it was a long time ago), plus a few other guys, for about an hour. Mitch was betting a little higher stakes than I was at that time....

I have often wondered why they neve made a 100k race for just 250f's only. Make it more of a even playing field for guys dropping back down against the lites guys.

Most fun races I’ve ever attended. You Could walk the pits and just talk to anyone. No lines. Always seemed like a great weekend to be in Vegas. Everyone was having fun and you’d see plenty of team members at the tables at night which was always fun. I went every year it ran from 1999 forward.

Same here. That arenacross was a blast. I think it was 2006 that I raced it. Went to the race 3 different years though.
