Bummer for Zack and Jason, two I suspected to be on the US team.

What does out team possibly look like now?

ET
AP?
JMart?
Barcia?
JA - Healthy/fit enough?

Thoughts?

Jason should be ready to go for mxon.
Probably Anderson, Tomac, and Martin or Plessinger.

Almost certain to be JMart if he's healthy, dude rips there. ET, obvi choice. Webb will be back, BB4, Barcia, JA21 all possible open (MX3) options.

Team Cortez + BamBam?
That was my thought ever since Anderson was injured. Tomac, Barcia, and J-Mart...

Barcia goes WFO at Des Nations for us.

250MX champ, Eli, and Baggett. (all if healthy of course)

I would like to see Anderson go but I don't think Rodger would pick him unless he comes back on fire for the last few races.

MXGP - Tomac (If not Tomac, Anderson)
MX2 - Jeremy Martin
Open - Anderson (If Tomac is out, Plessinger on a 450)

How can you pick Anderson over Barcia?

I think ZO is the easiest guy to replace. There are 2 or 3 guys in that class who absolutely rip and wouldn't be a step back from ZO if we sent them in his place. The spot that would be tough to replace is the 450 spot. We all assumed that Anderson would ride his way to the front and be a threat to win before too long. But after Anderson, I think it's a step back to Barcia and Baggett. If ET bows out again, we might have a real problem on our hands. Although on home soil I could see Barcia, BB and J-Mart still winning.

I am Canadian so I shouldn't care....but I was just re-watching the 2015 MXoN in France (I'm housebound and have too much time on my hands!), and let's not forget that Barcia won a Moto there. Plus he rode well in 2012 and 2013, he was definitely the best American in Lommel 2012. I think he's the type of guy you want for MXoN, battles hard and has that chip on his shoulder. Same with Cooper Webb if he's healthy.

If Tomac passes on it, Anderson is not healthy and ready, and Baggett needs surgery on his hand (as alluded to by JT$) then this US team quickly becomes sort of a "salvage" job again. I'd take Barcia and JMart in a heartbeat, and depending on Webb's form one could even consider Jeremy on the 450 with Amart on the 250. I don't think I would take Plessinger to MXoN, his poor starts and inconsistency is exactly the recipe a team does not want.

Eli said in a press conference at Hangtown that he would race MXdN this year.

Yes, I heard the presser in question. What I didn't hear was a lot of passion or anything other than "Yes". Plus, if the RacerX triumvirate are talking about him potentially passing then it becomes a "where's there's smoke there's fire" situation.

I think if Eli had won SX he would do MXoN for sure, to try to get the perfect season of SX/MX/MXoN but with no SX title, the late late date of MXoN and probably a LOT of pressure from Kawasaki for 2019, plus a new bike to develop in time for SX....I could totally see him taking a pass.

Barcia is a no brainer if he's healthy. He beat dungey straight up at Red Bud and he looks to be in that form currently.

Tomac, Baggett (if Ando isn't ready) and Martin. The beauty of Team USA's situation is they have lots of guys who can help win the overall. Tomac, Baggett, Anderson, Barcia,
Webb (maybe? Not sure what his projected return date is) JMart, AMart, Plessinger, Forkner, Cooper, etc. There's enough talent to win the MXDN on home turf for sure.

Eli is not a very excitable guy. I'm not sure why you would expect a ton of emotion out of a simple answer? He doesn't have a Roczen or JS7 type of personality. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Barcia is like Kenny, Febvre, Paulin, Searle, Tanel Leok and some others.
No matter how they did during the season or if their bike is any good. When it's mxdn time, they perform

So IMO he should be on the team (right now) - depends on how Baggett progresses

I think you may want to take a look at the official name of the MXdN (pay attention to the two words after 2018...)...

Everyone is missing out on the only obvious answer here.

Matthes and AC are on a Stew hunt this summer. He's clearly been hiding in the woods somewhere in florida just motoing down getting ready for this moment, likely on a 259 KX125, they'll bring him back to civilisation, team him with RV and Tim Ferry on an 05 YZ450F with safety wired carburettor and the super team will come through. Stamp it.

Or just pick the top 2 placed US 450 riders and the 250 class champion. Whatever you want i don't care.

I'd pick Barcia over Baggett for sure now. Eli, JMart and Bam Bam and the US will finally get back to the top of the podium lol

All Yamaha. Barcia, Webb and Plessinger.

I like Eli but this is a Patriotic event and I don’t think he deserves to go based on his past declinations.

I would be OK with Jeremy or Alex Martin, though. They are good kids.

Hasn't Baggett choked at his MXdN chances?
