Jeff Ward started on a contract w/ kawasaki and retired on kawasaki.im talking sx/motox *not supermoto
who else started with a legit factory contract and finished his career on the same manufacture without switching in between?

this is worse than obscure baseball stats.

true...a rider who stays with one brand gets labelled as they can only win on that brand so they get pressure to switch...hmmmm...now that I have said that I am struggling to think of a rider who has been in that position...lol...so I may be completely wrong! lol

Chicken rode for Suzuki in '93 and then NCY Yamaha.

Kind of a pointless thread anyway...is it fair to compare someone's loyalty who was a factory rider for 10 years and rode 3 different colors to someone who only had a ride for 3 years and was done?

Ward did have a very long career on Kawasaki. Broc Glover is another I think of that had a very long career on Yamaha's (and then rode 1 year for KTM in '89 to develop their new 250).

In the modern era Windham's been riding Honda's for 10 years now. But he's rode everything from Japan.

Larry Ward changed his clothing sponsor like every weekend in 1990.

maybe the word loyalty is too strong.staying power on one brand from 1st major pro contract to retirement on a major contract.with no straying to another brand in between.

RV's looking good to finish out his career on a Kawi, I honestly can't see him switching manufactuerer's in the near future. It's quite an accomplishment to start and finish your career on the same bike....not a lot of people have done it.

What about Damon Bradshaw? I know he did a brief 'comeback', but I don't remember what he rode.

Nope, Bradshaw came back on a Honda.

Chicken rode either Suzuki or Yamaha later in his career I think?

RV rode Yamahas in minis but as far as pro it has been cool to see him stay all green.

I think TP was on Suzuki since minis but his pro career was definitely cut short so it's hard to say if he would have stayed with them had he remained in professional motocross.
