I thought he was a young gun who just captured his first World Title. Either the stress from that championship or coming over to the US has made him age rapidly.

from MXA's site, who is that guy?

MXA used the wrong picture, and it is obviously not Tyla. Who is it? Former racer? Mechanic? Anyone know?

If that is a serious post then that just about sums up the 'general' US fans knowledge of Motocross outside of America.

I'm not sure what bothers European's more....the fact that we American's don't know that much about your continent/society, or the fact that we don't really want to know much about your continent/society.

I'll be honest, I actually do care what happens in the rest of the world. The US is great, but there are some very cool places and cultures out there. I've always loved the fact that motocross is a worldwide sport. The reason I originally started this thread was to make people aware that Rattray is not the person shown on the MXA site. I was actually waiting for some other moto nerd to point that one out, but no one, not even the European sticklers, did. Tyla is going to be an instant threat for the 250 National Championship in May, no matter what team he is on, and he deserves some proper recognition at the very least.

Gents - if you looked at the caption for the above said picture:

"Tyla's World Championship KTM and mechanic" ..it was right there if you read it.

It's not that hard.......no really.

BASTARDS! They updated it. I guess the MXA guys read this forum (they're watching us, I'm scared). Those other photos were not there when I originally posted this thread earlier today.

Yeah that's Tyla's mechanic on the start straight of Faenza (last GP of the year) the thursday following the race. There was a ride day with all the factory bikes for the European press. I had the opportunity to ride the 250 (Rattray, Searle, Goncalvès) and 450 (Nagl, Barraganfactory bikes, and they haul ass... But you guessed it. For you French speaking americans, here's the link : http://www.mx2k.com/actualite-motocross/2061/essai-ktm-factory-on-a-rou…

Good guy, experienced, hard working mechanic, I hear Tyla brings him to the US, good decision.
He'll fit well in Mitch's gang.

It wouldn't have surprised me - I've come across some pretty funny misconceptions before. Plus I think I'd come in from having a few Beers when I wrote it so my sarcasm radar was a little too well lubed perhaps! Smile

Wayne Lumgair, Tyla's mechanic and stepfather. Tyla is 23, which is old for MX2, 250, Lites in my opinion.
