For someone with so much money, I respect his decision to form a team but the way he did it didn't seem to make much business sense. Too many high level techs/mechanics for the years when he was the single rider for the team. I guess if you're going to go in, go all in...
Well in five years he won a bunch of SX and MX races, and went within a bee's dick of an SX title.

I'd say his team has done better than any other except Kawasaki and KTM in that period.

Chad Reed is all about class, which is why he posted this in the 1st place.

If there's a possible sponsor, it's someones job to see if they can get them for next year.

Although, this makes my post even more plausible...

It would appear not.

I've actually read a bunch of Fb posts by Moto-mags/websites saying TWMX confirmed TwoTwo is closing. I feel like they didn't read the article before posting, maybe they post here too!

I can understand American sites posting stuff, I have no doubt that they have some good inside info on what is going on, but I think ill wait and see how it all plays out Smile

Hopefully it is not the end for Reed, and hopefully he is able to still race in Australia later this year, I want to see him race again before he hangs up the boots for good.

Packing himself and Girlfriend up and going to ride in Europe , winning then coming to the States and winning as well!

He is a true legend and not many has apart from Townly have done what Chad has from down our way!

He sounds bitter, but who does he have to blame except himself? If he`s gonna hang this on MXSports for camera fiasco, that`s total bullshit.
Sucks, but it is what it is. That team was formed to spite mx industry in a first place.

I wholeheartedly agree. I also agree that the "moto industry" has every responsibility to call Discount tire and see if they are available to sponsor their team. They are a title sponsor for a reason, if their team shuts up shop its just common sense to try and get them on your team rather than let them disappear from mx.

I'm also wiling to bet his #stayclassy will have a few more tweets that are attention seeking.

However, this behavior seems to work for Reed. He is doing a great job getting exposure and I applaud that. There are very few in mx who can get the same level of exposure from so little.

You have to laugh at Reed getting all salty when people speculate on his ambiguous posts that are meant to create speculation.

Fucking agree 110%. It's obvious that the people who run the Moto series are lacking business sense. Look to HBS for summer interns to assist for the following year. Cheap and brilliant labor

So let me get this straight, Reed gets a $500k sponsor to use a camera that he cannot use and it is the people that run the series fault???? What a load of bullshit. Yes gopro have a monopoly on the series, thats what they pay big bucks for. I am sure the people running the series would of worked with Team 22 to get it approved for next year, if indeed that is really the issue....and lets face it no one knows that, pure speculation at this point.

So you think Mx Sports is letting Go Pro roll for free or do you think they are getting paid? Maybe teams should be aware of series sponsors and obligations before they sign their own deals. Time to rethink who lacks business sense.

If this is true, it's sad.

Anyway, if Chad wants to race 2016 SX, im sure he already knows that he has good bike in other team for him. Why would he stop running his team at this point and take the risk being left without good bike if he still wants to race?

Any team would want Chad, he has one of the biggest fan bases, he can win, and when he does people goes crazy.

When this stuff happens, it's good for the business

Chad Reed has every right to be proud of what he has accomplished and I think everyone should say thanks to him for starting his own team and doing things on his terms. Love him or hate him, he is truly one of the greats that we've ever seen.

Let me ask you this, mate:

If GoPro has payed for exclusive rights to their on-board videos and have somewhat of a monopoly, what do you think GoPro cares about most, lining their pockets with profit or the health and growth of a sport?

All the on-board videos and all of the videos from the racing belongs to NBC who has a contract with Go-Pro. It`s a copyright and contract issue. No-one is trying to screw Reed. 360FLY can go to NBC and offer them better contract or better caption of the race or whatever and then Reed can fill his pockets.

Not true, (Edit - The Part about all on-board footage being Go-Pro)

Watched round four again today.

The POV helmet cam used by Phil Niccoletti I am 99% sure was not a Go-Pro.

The camera used for the live footage
