Great stuff!

But better hope no one at the AMA sees it - apparently they frown on this sort of thing. This might be a quicker way to get a lifetime ban than failing a dozen WADA tests. Wink

Yeah 2 strokes are competitive but not with the double displacment rule. a 250 2 stroke cant compete with these modern 450s. same with a 125 and a 250f. I love riding my 2 stroke but when it comes to lets say a LLQ il be riding a 4 stroke, faster on one and easier to ride. Love seing 2 strokes out there

I own both and your statement is the same way I feel. When I said it on here though people beat me down about it.

You could allow 250 2 Strokes in the Lites class...and all the top teams would still run 250fs.

That Tyler guy nearly jumped into the face of the next jump. That was sketchy. Is that the 517 guy...?

Don't get Honda, this bike could do some damage in the 250 class $12,500 smoker

love to see Freezie on one for the last couple up there. Have Terry Varner do some magic. 213 pound service Honda

Up here 250 v 250 seems to be working well. Many privateer types are on the two strokes and great to see them out there.I haven't heard of anyone complaining either way so I don't really see what the problem would be.

The 250 2-stroke is barely competitive with the 250F, much less the 450. Well, at least he's trying. The Fs are so boring compared to the 2s. It would be fun to see a good rider competing on one in SX. But, at the same time, it would only be a novelty. Cool pic and update, though GuyB

"Reduced profits"- Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki.

I counted 3 two stroke 250's in 450 class qualifying. One was a Honda which made it at least 7 years old. There was another guy on a KTM that actually looked dialed in and I thought he might actually qualify.

Yep. Get rid of all displacement rules and stroke rules. 2 classes, both open to run what ya brung. Premier class pays, support class does too, but way less with just a small amount of publicity.

That 517 dude looked like a novice out there.

The problem is that Honda painted themselves into a corner several years ago when they announced they were ceasing production of ALL 2-srokes (weedeaters, boat motors, etc) because they were committed to "saving the planet" - not because they weren't profitable, etc. They had a "moral" reason according to them.

Unless they come out and renounce their green religion and declare the planet is no longer in peril, I don't see them changing course and making smokers again.

Of course, they could always act like a politician - do it anyway and act as if they never said it. Grinning

Fact is, corporate Honda has never cared for 2-strokes. I read an interview with Mr. Honda back in the '70s in which he declared Honda "is a 4-stroke company".

I'm sure that interview is floating around somewhere.
