Does anyone know what fuels still produce a good exhaust smell? I always loved the Cam2 fuel with the red tint mixed with Castor, but none of the Cam2 pumps around me carry the fuel with the red tint and after calling a few local places it seems Cam2 stopped using the red dyed fuel and their 110 is just clear now. I've tried VP110 and C12 as well but none of them have that same candy smell the Cam2 used to. T2 was the closest I have found but still doesn't compare. Any suggestions?

I run VP 110 blended 50/50 with pump 92 and mix Maxima K2. It’s a pleasant exhaust smell

You'll find out it has more to do with the oil than the fuel. Benol Castor has a very pleasant smell, go buy a Klotz candle and light it on Christmas day, it makes opening presents so much more delightful.

That two stroke smell - my friend calls that aroma therapy.

Klotz super techniplate is the sweetest smelling oil I've ever used. It's good for racing high flash point like 927. Seriously crack open a bottle of super techniplate you can smell it has a like sweet almost candy smell. Trick 110 with super techniplate mmmm

Another vote for Klotz Supertechniplate. I run it in all my 2 strokes. Weed whacking never smelled better. Most any of the 110 octane racing fuels will just help accentuate the smell.

U4.4 with any oil is the best. That VP race fuel that race teams used to use in the early 2000's was easily the best smell ever, stupid 4 strokes ruined that for us.

Klotz Techniplate, R50, Benol or Maxima Castor 927 are usually the key ingredients. And then probably VP 110, C12 or VPR. I remember how Cam2 smelled so good. I think some places had that Turbo Blue pump which was decent also.

I'm currently running Yamalube 2R with Renegade HRP97. It runs great and smells nice, but any of the combos I listed above is probably going to get that epic level of 2 stroke scent. My combo is unfortunately not at the level, as far as the scent, but it runs fine, so I'll stick with it.

Maxima's original degummed racing castor was the smell. 927 is fantastic too, but I swear it's not the same.
That original Maxima in Trick fuel.... well, there are only two other smells that even come close: New Oakley O-Frames from 1985 and my prom date's Eternity perfume.

I was talking about the old spec. fuel the factory teams used. I want to say it was MR2 way before the AMA banned leaded fuels. It was something like $56/gal. Nothing smells like that one did.

VP MRXO2 with caster 927 is my preference but its a fuel that the bike needs to be set up to run correctly and to be able to get the most out of the fuel. Not cheap ether unfortunately.

927 with straight Sunoco 110 runs and smells great. U4.4 even mixed half and half with pump will stink out your neighbors house if their window is open. A friend of mine had the lady next door come over freaking out asking what the smell was and she lives a good 120 feet away

Klotz is my favorite. Even run it in the chain saw, leaf blower, and weed eater! Just to get that race day smell while doing yard work!

Riding season is pretty much over in Michigan now so the left over fuel/927 goes in the chain saw. At least I can think about riding while I'm cutting wood to stay warm!

My friend and I had 5 gallons of that in our plastic jugs for the weekend at Mammoth in 2004. You could smell it inside the house, though the can and through the garage walls. That was just the raw fuel - not the exhaust!

Yep Klotz super techniplate smells bomb. I run it in my 250sx. I’ve also heard Ipone samourai is supposed to smell good but haven’t tried it yet. Klotz smells good with pump gas, race gas, whatever

Back in the 90's, elf fuel and synthetic premix. Best. Smell. Evar.

I think MRX02 was the fuel most factory teams were running toward the end of the two stroke era. Probably mixed with 927, Yamalube R or similar.

To the OP, CAM2 is now Sunoco Racing fuels. Maximal is the red stuff, leaded 116 octane.

One of the best smells to me is Sunoco standard mixed 32:1 with Spectro SX 100% synthetic. Has a cool, sour smell. Ran that for years in bikes and snowmobiles (pre-mix only Snocross machines). In my experience, that oil was amazingly clean. Underrated.

Or if you want to make just about any fuel smell like strawberries, there’s Ipone.

Another vote for Klotz! My dad started running the original Klotz back in the early nineties and then we switched to the Supertechniplate. That’s the only oil I run in both of my two strokes! Mixed with c12, that scent can’t be beat!!

Spectro is very underrated by today's standards. I ran Golden Spectro in my last couple Japanese 125s before I went with euro bikes.

Hahahaha - weed wacking, blowing, and chainsawing always make me want to go to the track!
