With only 36 riders on the presign list it looks like Ronnie Ford has a guaranteed spot in the night show at Daytona.
Hopefully his sinus infection is better so he will actually fulfill his dream of riding in the night show.

He qualified for toronto as well, but they stopped him from racing as his lap times were too slow.

No they didn't. He voluntarily pulled off the track in the 1st timed practice without completing a lap. He said he had a sinus infection and wasn't feeling well.

Starling is injured, but there will probably be ten more entries for Daytona by Friday. Toronto was probably the only chance Ronnie would have had. Only one rider from the 250 class didn't race there. It's the whole border deal. Maybe in Jersey, when the interest has shifted to outdoors, there will be a low entry count.

I guess you missed the part where he was on the gate for the heat race...but he did pull off after the first turn. That allowed him to get the money he earned for being in the night show.

Really?

My bad, I thought I heard on the Toronto podcast they wouldn't let him run.

He's not even listed at all on the results sheet. He doesn't have a qualifying time, or any record of recording a lap in either qualifying session. He's not on the list for either of the heats. Haven't seen this before.

How is he getting to all the races? Just wondering because a lot of other people seem to have a hard time making that happen.

It shows him with a DNS in Heat #1, a DNS in Semi #2 and DNS in the LCQ. You have to complete a full lap in order for the electronic timing to score you as starting the race. If he pulled off after the 1st turn that's why he's listed as a DNS even though he took the gate drop.

It looks like I owe Mr. Ford an apology.
When he voluntarily pulled off the track in the 1st timed practice without completing a lap I thought he quit right when he had the chance to realize his goal making the night show. Looks like he was on the gate. Good for him.

OK sorry, I thought you were trying to be an ass because of the interaction between slipdog and myself that has been going on through several different threads.

Ahhh...gotcha. I was looking under the starting lineups tabs, and the combined qualifying times tabs, where he isn't listed. But when you go under the results tab, for the same sections, the DNSs are shown.

Put James Stewart of 2005 on that 17' TC 250......that would be a sight to see! Whoopin' some 450 ass right there!

As far as Ronnie goes....he has to be a pretty badass rider in his own right. And I'm sure on local days , he mops up pretty good , but this is SX against the best guys in the world. So I'm not sure what he was expecting. He gave it a shot though.

I don't get it, why are you guys excited to see him at the races? He's laps times are 10secs a lap slower than the 40th place rider. He's a danger to be out there.

Some people are hard up as hell for that 2-stroke sound, I guess. This isn't like Stank-Dog doing the 250 Nationals, this guy has no business being out there...2-stroke dream, or not.

Last night, Justin told me he would line up this weekend.

I agree he is turning into Sideshow Bob instead of a legitimate racer. There is no other professional sport that just because you used to be a pro 20 years ago that you can just show up and compete.
