Want input from people that actually own and use the tusk impact wheel sets. I know these are prob not as good as a excel/ Hahn set. But are they safe?

Good/ bad?

Looking to purchase a set of wheels for a yz250 that I practice motocross on.

Slightly heavier then stock. Better then the stock wheels on my ktm. Fit was perfect. Had multiple sets over the years and never had an issue.

For a vet rider (on a YZ250) who does track days and rides trails, they have been bulletproof. I've had them about three years, and I haven't had to touch them. As a slow vet, I'm not really testing the limits of these wheels on a regular basis, if you're a local pro who's hammering them every weekend, I don't know what to tell you.

Holding up just fine, 30+ hours C class woods racing and track days here and there. Silver finish holds up well to tire spoons as well.

When did silver become available? Last time I bought wheels Tusk only had black available.
I chose to pay more for a Warp9 silver wheel.

Usually the rear wheel is the one that goes to hell.
Having silver available to match the stock front is a smart move that took too long for them to do.

They've had silver available for a long time. Yamaha's come with silver rim and blue hub.

I have a set that I got in 2015. They were originally on my 14 YZ450, then when I sold that bike I kept the wheels for my 05 YZ250 that I bought a few days later. Probably 25-30 hours on them and are holding up just fine. My dad has a set on his 17 RMZ450(50+ Expert) and it is the second bike that set has been on. Wheels have around 40-50 or more hours on them.

Have a set on a YZ250 but only have a few rides on them at this point but can at least say the spokes have stayed tight.

Only slight issue I had was that the spacer on the sprocket side kept wanting to pop out from the seal. Then when mounting on the bike the seal would want to pop loose from the wheel and could not get it to stay seated.

Called Rocky Mountain ATV and they sent me a new seal set that included new bearings. Only used the one seal from the new kit and it stayed in placed. Have never had that happen before with a seal, not sure what was up. Props to RMATV for immediately sending a new bearing and seal kit.

I've had 3 sets. Have about 150 hrs on my current set. Vet B woods rider and occasional track day. Never an issue out of any of them except I've slightly warped the lip of the front wheel in a small area on this set. It doesn't effect performance in any way though...I would never hesitate to buy another set! What amazes me the most is how well the spokes hold up. I check them all they time and they are always good to go

I had about 35 hours on my 18 crf450. I weigh about 250lb and go fairly decent, I had zero issues.

My warp 9 wheels came apart and the tusk wheel was still good when I sold it.

I've had mine on my 450 for 2 years and now they are on my 125. Right out of the box the spokes needed to be torqued, and then after the first 3 or 4 rides I had to retorque them. After that I've only had to retorque them a handful of times. They are great wheels for the money and hold up very well.

Can’t speak for the whole wheelset, but the rims are great and hold up nicely. Retained OEM hubs and spokes, had to torque spokes a couple times initially, but have been tight ever since. They’re on a 450 too.

I'm not sure when, but they are available.

I had 15 hours on my Tusk wheel set before I sold my KTM. I checked the spokes before every ride day. Never had an issue. Great option, especially for the price.

Had them on a CRF250R. Would certainly buy them again.

Zero issues with mine. 8 hours on them and spokes are still right and the rims still spin true. Had to tighten a few random spokes when I first got them on a truing stand but they are solid wheels.

I took a chance and bought a set of the 400$ ones on eBay that come from California. I forget the seller. Jumped some pretty big stuff with them. They're still round and in one piece. 18' Honda 450.

Got a set with about 4 hours on them.

I had to do a lot of torquing on them so far but they look clean and beefier than stock.
As of this point, I like them.

Since they are rocky mountains In-house brand, I can't imagine them selling a shit product being such a label in the sport.
