Hello! So recently I was reading through the new racer x magazine, and came across the troy Lee designs add for the new se4 composite helmet. They got it listed at $450 compared to $650 for the carbon. The only issue is its not on there website. I emailed asking about it but haven't gotten a response. It's been about 5 days. Anyone have any idea if it's just not released yet? And how is this helmet compared to the 6ds? I've always had shoeis but I'm ready to change it up a bit. Thanks

I know, that's why the composite is more appealing to me! I know the 6d costs more but you can't put a price on safety I've been told Blink

I called TLD last week about the SE4 Comp helmet and release date. They said mid to late November for release, 3.1 lbs vs 2.9lbs CF and $450 bucks. IMO the SE4 comp is a good deal for what you get... just my 2 cents

Interesting. For the first time in my life the Google machine came up empty. Full on fail. Can't find a stitch of info about it. They place an add in a magazine, but nothing else anywhere. Strange. Guess we'll see soon enough though!

That helmet looks awesome and $450 feels better on the wallet than $650. Guess we will wait and see later this month. Very interested in the fit.

Problem with a $650 helmet is someone is less likely to stop using it after a blow. Idk how wel they work after a hard blow.

650 bucks for a carbon helmet with MIPS is a lot. You can get a Fox V4 for 150 less.

Edit: I actually noticed that they don't have the V4 in the 2017 line up. Well you can get a 2016 V4 for 300-350 bucks.

Yeah Fox dropped the V4 for 2017. V3 is their new "top of the line" helmet for 2017. Which means that there is still some really good deals out there for the 2016 V4 helmets!

X2,. I see people blowing 1k on a Saturday at casinos, think nothing of it. Pretty sure the human head is worth $650.

i always laugh at that argument. while i understand the thinking "if you have a $5 head then buy a $5 helmet", it's still ridiculous how expensive shit is getting. it's not just helmets either, a set of tech 10's are $600 for fukksakes.

funny thing is that moto guys are sheeple and will pay an arm and a leg for it without batting an eye.

MIPS is not the only safety feature in the SE4 line of helmets as it is just one of the safety features in the helmet to address rotational impacts. Triple density EPS and additional EPS in the highest impact areas make this SE4 so safe.

SE4 Carbon - CF Shell, Titanium Hardware, Helmet Bag, Extra visor. 2.9lbs! - 4 Styles / 7 Color options

SE4 Composite - Composite Shell, Stainless Steel Hardware, Helmet Sock. 3.1lbs 4 Styles / 4 Color options

I recently tested the Mutli-Layered EPS & MIPS in my 1st SE4...head impact ON A ROCK. Smashed my head into the 3rd of 4 layers. It was a HARD hit & I was lucky.

The SE4 works.

I got another one.
