Just as the title reads, I have been having trouble finding a new YZ250 for my father. I have found a YZ250X but that has the 18" rear wheel, and it seems as if none of the dealers in MI are stocking them, or dealing with them. Please don't recommend a KTM, it's not even an option. My father hates the KTM with a passion.

I have talked to another dealership that says if we put a deposit down he will order one, but his price is also $7600 out the door which I feel is pretty high. Any help is much appreciated..

Craigslist? I know you said "new" but I bought my 2011 in September of 2013 with only 4 hours on it. Good deals are out there just gotta keep searching

Did you try full throttle in Lansing?

The 2 stroke is hot right now. "Resurgence" is what I would call it.

Thanks for the help guys, I will call that dealership. I know he was originally looking for a good used 06-08 RM, but couldn't find anything that wasn't a pile of shit or commanding ridiculous money.

Pretty easy bike to find.
I have been on the phone with 9 dealerships, none of which have one in their possession. Now either I am the unluckiest SOB East of the Mississippi, or you're talking out of your ass. Which one is it?

I did call them, they said they couldn't keep them on the floor.

I appreciate that, Pete.. If push come to shove he could always get it and convert to a 19" wheel.

You could get any 06-14 and do a 250 plastic and graphic update.

I've got a 10 that will look like a 15 soon.

Got gear in ridgeland, ms has 2 on the floor and a 250x. Www.gotgearmotorsports.com they do websales

Ask for raymond or andrew. They are the managers, dont bother with the sales staff, all they know are atv's, utv's and streetbikes. Andrew and Raymond are dirt guys.

J&J is a local dealer to me. They're a good shop. Also, check Action Cycled in alliance Ohio. I bet they have one too..

I was just at Honda East on Saturday and they had one in the showroom. Hard to beat their prices too.

The 18" rear wheel would be the last YZ/YZX difference I would worry about if I was going to use the X for MX.

Tons of them around, but mat as well buy used and save some $$. They havent changed much since 08. Still a good bike though. Dont buy a 250x. It is a turd. No pipe at all. Big time difference in power and response.

Thanks for all of the help, he got one. Now it's time to pull it apart and let the modding process. Begin, I'll start a build thread. Thank again.

Do yourself a favor and drive to Rock River for one. They do not collect MI tax and usually are the lowest price around.

Thanks but he bought one, and neither of us really have the time to drive out all over/ out of state for a bike. We run a famliy construction company. We have several big dirt jobs going, and haven't even time to get a bulldozer to my house to clean up the track for spring.

Either way, I am next to get a bike. I will probably get a 450 though..Not sure which color.. Might wait until 2017's come out to see the new Honda and Suzuki...
