For the 3 triple crown events FELD should/needs to create a 250 two stroke class. With only 22 guys racing that evening in the 450 class and 20 racing in the lites class, give the other guys who most likely wont qualify a platform in which to be seen and get some exposure by creating a class for them.

250 two stroke:
1) Cheaper bike to buy and maintain than a 4 stroke
2) Closer racing will prevail. These guys will all be going as fast as a two stroke can go, it is as close to a spec class as you can get.
3) No homologation rule - If a guy wanted to race an 04 Kawi or 04 Yamaha let them race against a 18' KTM. Its already proved to be competitive..
4) Rarely does a lites rider move up on the opposite coast.. they might consider moving to a two stroke class on the opposite coast ( if their manufacture makes a 2-stroke) to get more gate drops and give their sponsors more exposure and create more story lines for the sport to talk about.
4) The fans have clearly called for it. Let these privateers race on the fans favorite bikes, different sound and smell.
5) SX is a show.. so make it that.

Let this be the test case for a future two stroke class which should probably be introduced anyway into the sport. We should be showing the consumer another bike that is more cost effective that they could buy if they are just getting into the sport. The privateers are racing for pennies and spending tons on 4-strokes. Let them race and have a two stroke champion, they will get their own podium for exposure that will hopefully get sponsors give them more dollars.

Seems like common sense.

But Honda
Honda made the decision to stop making 2 strokes.. why penalize Yamaha, KTM and Husky for their business decision ?

They still have the 450 and lites class like normal.

No homologation in the 250 two stroke if someone wants to ride an 05 CR 250... let them.

A lot of us just watch a 98 CR 250, (one of the worst model year Hondas ever) piloted by a professional idiot, almost beat a brand new KTM 125 piloted by a professional racer that specializes in racing two stroke bikes. Aren't we past the whole "but his bike can go faster" thing. Talent outweighs horsepower all day.

My mistake. I misunderstood that. I thought he chose to race a 125SX.
