When is the AMA/Feld going to change the points for triple crown format? Three main events for averaging scores is jacked. Why not just count it as three separate mains? The law of averages ruins it for someone winning and helps for someone who sucked. See example of forkner vs cooper.
First place get 1 point, second gets 2 points, third place gets 3 and so on per main event race at a triple crown. (This is different for non-Triple Crown races.)
Rider with the lowest points wins the night and the ranking and championship points are assigned from there.
The Shop
Win a race it goes towards the overall, but you also get 3 pts. 2 for second and 1 for third. If you kick ass like Ken did last night you would get 9 extra pts for winning the mains, and the normal pts for winning also.
But actually in the Triple Crowns you get 3 chances - 3 gate drops. More is more.

All and get 36 points.
12 points for 1st, 11 points for 2nd, and so on.
it would give incentive for people to go for it every moto, and also give people a real incentive to get in the top 12
Say Forkner went 1-1-3. He gets 5 points.
Ferrandis then goes 2-2-1. He gets 5 but is ranked ahead because he had the better finish in last race.
I was waiting for that to happen last night and IMO it wouldn't have been fair on Forkner if it did.
IMO a win should give a rider 0 points. A win needs a bigger advantage over second. So 2 wins and a third is unbeatable by just 1 win.
