He had a few moments when he was on the gas for sure. He looked way better Sunday than Saturday, probably more comfortable.

You could barely hear his bike over the four strokes!

Surprised he can lift his leg that high in the turn. Was epic having the legend cutting laps

Did you see the size of his silencer? Agreed could barely hear it over the 4 bangers

That silencer is no joke the same size as the FMF Q Pipe I use on my RM250 for enduros. It makes it super quiet and kills the power off a bit too. Why FMF gave him a silencer like that for this event is beyond me.

Awesome pic though!

Possibly to meet sound requirements?

I heard the race bike was purchased in 2010 and barely ridden. Then they gathered up the best parts the could find for the race. He must have stocked up when 4 year old leftovers were $4000 or less.

I seriously doubt that was the case since it's an open circuit track. Normally have to run those longer silencers for hare scramble or enduro events that do require lower sound decibels.

Where/ how could I get one of those longer quieter silencers? No need for expensive materials, just lower decibels. Asking for a neighbor or 10...

FMF Q Pipe, as pictured here on my bike.

Should be able to get one easy enough.
Anodize it blue and viola! Same pipe as TP

I was under the impression it was for FIM sound compliance too...

H4L, I think the longer silencer the woods guys run that you're referring to is a spark arrestor?

One of my best memories of mxon was Travis in this corner. 1st moto he got passed on the inside at the corner before the leap. Just a bit behind the guy going over laroccos leap and Travis flat out railed that berm on the outside passing the guy back. Fastest I saw anyone take that corner.

I read somewhere that he blew up the factory motor on Saturday after he was in a collision with another rider and broke a water pump. They switched to a mostly stock motor for Sunday. The exhaust is for noise compliance and its the newest and best exhaust according to FMF. It was the Powercore 2.1 Ti with a custom TP factory fatty.

Yeah Sipes did say on the Pulp Show that Travis was hit by another competitor. I think he also said that Travis was pretty sure this guy knew what the "F" word meant. lol.

Yep. I was referring to a spark arrestor silencer. The longer silencer will drown out the sound. Maybe the FIM currently has stricter sound regulations than the AMA use to have on 2t's. That's odd since I would think the thumpers would be a lot louder in comparison.
