Redwood City, CA - MDK Motorsports LLC is proud to announce Jagermeister as the new title sponsor for the 450 Supercross/Motocross race team. Jagermeister is one of the largest and most recognizable brand names in the global spirits industry selling over 3 million cases annually in the United States alone. The team will be called Jagermeister/MDK/KTM 450 Race Team for the 2009 Supercross/Motocross season.

The Jagermeister / MDK / KTM racing team will have Travis Preston and Josh Summey, two new riders to MDK, lead the charge on the MDK Speed / KTM 450 SX-F in the 2009 Supercross/Motocross season. "Jagermeister has been looking at moto for many years and we've finally found the ideal partnership with MDK / KTM. We look forward to many successful seasons with the team. CHEERS!" said Rick Zeiler of Jagermeister.

"This is a great opportunity for our team. Having excellent, hard-charging riders and a great brand name involved with Supercross/Motocross will also help grow our sport and the MDK brand, especially one with expertise in activation off the track," said MDK owner Mark Kvamme.

"Rick and I have been friends and talking about Jager getting involved in the sport for 8 years. The timing was finally right, and we found the perfect race team that can vertically integrate the Jagermeister brand throughout its business. This is going to be a great year for our sport. Wait until you see what we have in store for 2009 on and off the track," said Jamey "the people's champ" Grosser, whose company cities2night.com brokered the deal between Jagermeister and MDK.

Make sure you plan time in your day at Anaheim 1 to catch all the Kaos in Jagermeister / MDK / KTM pits!

I heard, once you go SX only, you never go back. Something about it being too dirty and for rednecks.

The law basically prohibits tobacco and alcohol companies from directly sponsoring someone who is underage.

OK I wasn't clear on that, thought it had something to do with the market they were directing it to.

I dunno if beer companies have nascar teams anymore...if not, it's because of nascrap rules, not the law. There is still a Miss Budweiser in unlimited hydro competition, drag racing has a Bud sponsored team...and who could forget MC with the Bud Light/KTM team?

Your right the mdk guys said he loves the way the bike works in the whoops he just needs to get the cornering traits to his liking.. TP can ride anything with a couple months of hard testing he should be fine come ANH 1..There are alot of guys out there can do top 5 easy its gonna be some good battles this year for sure.

KTM makes a great bike. Using your vast knowledge of the KTM Please explain in less than 500 words why the bike is shitty.

That linkage bike has really worked out for Alessi hasn't it!!!!

Matt Goerke killed Wey. The kid jumps on that 450 and kills it while Wey lumbered around the track like he has the last 6 yrs. KTM should build around Goerke IMO. Summey and Preston is a nice kids but is either guy is worthy of riding for this team.

Goerke has a few podiums 2 years ago in supercross. But they should make their riders do however many shots of Jagermeister they are behind the leader. So if your 9 sec. behind they will have to take 9 shots after the race, will make them want to do better the next race.

Has KTM ever had a rider that was capable of getting on the box in the large bore class?

I don’t believe Jeremy ever rode an AMA Supercross event on the KTM.

It was a long time ago so please correct me if I am wrong.

For 2003 he signed with Team KTM but a pre-season crash on the much maligned KTM 250SX made him rethink his future in racing and he decided to retire on the eve of the 2003 supercross season.

Thats from Wikipedia.

Maligned? LOL. Doesn't maligned mean possessed or something? Brutal.

KTM's are darksided!!!

Much maligned according to whom?

This is what really bothers me. Most who continue to bash the KTMs can barley stay ahead of their own dust.

Nick Wey was getting podiums on his "privateer" honda... his results did go down on his factory ktm, coincidence maybe?
